Looks like they're back gentleman.

Not the Grizzly Adams or Nutty Survivalist type mind you, but way past the previously acceptable '5 oclock shadow' look.

Ive been growing mine for nearly 2 weeks, and TBH its shitting me to tears.

But the GF likes. And i am noticing an increased level of intrest by the ladies after decades of clean shaven goodness.

Any of you crazy cats given in to this new beard happy trend?

have been rocking a blonde beard for nigh on 6 months now, i enjoy it's worming qualities. also, it helps with the laides

I always go beard. Not for any fashionable reason, just because I can't be ****ed shaving it.
My girlfriend doesn't like them though, so it is the opposite of your results.
But I don't care, I enjoy having beardly goodness, and she will damn well put up with it.

Back in high school, I was one of very few guys who could grow a proper beard. You could always see the jealousy in the eyes of others who couldn't grow one. It was awesome.

Pfftt. Newbies. Had a beard ranging from 5 o'clock shadow to pretty bushy (depending on how lazy I am trimming ) for about 6 years now.

Huge in the Gay community over here.

Went to a going away party for some gay mates of mine. 75% of the gay men there were rocking beards.

Past the 5 oclock shadow beards.

Difference between the 'gay' beards and the 'straight' beards was that the 'gay' beards were universally well groomed. The straight guys beards extended to the neck. Intentially grown (not out of simple lazyness) but not really looked after.

A third of the stright guys were rocking beards as well. Indicative of the usual three month lag time from homo to hetero fashion and style.

Beards are back.

I've had beards on and off since I was 21 (27 now), mostly through laziness but the look does suit me nonetheless.

Not a massive lady-spinner I've found, but hasn't really held me back either (except when I get to a month or more untrimmed).

Beards are rad, I rock either a beard or big chops. Hasn't hindered me in anyway, mostly because I get around in the music scene, so it's a bit more common. It's even helped me pull this 8.5 who said "I love beards, my dads a bikie and has one". Boy oh boy, talk about daddy issuses!!!!

And none of this goatee shit.

Colin Farrell is about the only bloke in existence who can pull them off.

A PoMo would tear that reasoning apart, Mal! ;)

I happen to have a goatee that makes me very happy. At the moment it's a beard because I'm lazy, which I am much of the time. Have found the reactions generally positive. Wife likes it too.

I would start growing a beard, then I would just end up getting irritated by it and just shave it off

I'm kinda the opposite. My skin gets very irritated and flakey if I keep shaving. So I beard up. Still a bit flakey but can comb it out in the morning (can't do that clean shaven) and anything on the skin surface is hidden by the beard. :thumbsu:

I've never tried growing a beard.

I shave as soon as it starts irritating me and making my skin itchy.

PS. Are you one of spudchambers aliases Malfice? :p

Been bearding up since i started shaving way back when. I go 4-5 days and then shave..i hate shaving.

Have noticed that a year ago if i had stubble for a few days the ladies would not look and if i was clean shaven the looks would come. Now its gone full circle..and chicks seem to like it.

Bloody fashion.

Had one for about 2 years. Trim it back a little when it gets too bushy and sometimes do a bit of manscaping, but generally let it grow.

The Mrs used to hate me not shaving every couple of days, but has no issues with the full beard.

Been rocking one for a while now, since the early 20's.

Btw, If your dad doesn't have a beard, you've got two mum's.

I've tried. The itchiness gets to me in the end. Will only last for 2 weeks max.

I also have the dreaded ginger beard sometimes.

Shave every week or so but I have spurts where I let it grow for a bit. I like the rough kind of look that it gives you. I do have to neaten it up a bit for work which can get annoying but I prefer to just let it grow everywhere.

I appreciate a good beard. Ryan Dunn (Bless his soul) had the perfect beard I believe.
