I was just wondering about your thoughts about Thomas Bellchambers at full forward for the Bombers.
In the games he's played for Essendon and Bendigo this year, I really think he has some potential at full forward. He is a strong body and has a wonderful pair of hands. I think he can he really be an imposing figure do there, and with Essendon's full forward stocks low, he could fit that role. He could pinch hit in the ruck when Hille and Ryder are injured.

I don't think the idea is as bad as it sounds, i thought Bellchambers showed quite a lot this year when in the seniors and one thing he does well is compete for the ball. However we would look pretty cumbersome with Bellchambers, Gumbleton and a resting ruck up forward (particularly when its Hille). At the moment Bellchambers only real role in our team is as our 3rd ruck option which probably means he will play about 6 games a season working on the basis of Hille/Ryder missing about 3 games each to injury/suspension.

I'd say its an option we could use if we lose a lot of KP's to injury rather than one we should be trying to implement as a strategy. Also because Hille/Ryder rotate up forward a lot more than most other ruck duos this idea is less feasible at our club than it would be at many others.

dont think it can work, have a look at north with hale, mcintosh and goldstein. and im not sure belly is better than hale. (though he will be in a few years)

If you were playing all three, Belly would be rucking in tandem with one of the others freeing the third to play full forward. Having said that I reckon Carlilse will be a gun and we could do worse than let him develop, whilst playing him full forward. Similar theory to a young Lloyd who became a long term gun full forward in these circumstances.

Surely your taking the piss! What a stupid idea and a waste of a Thread.

I was just wondering about it, as I saw him playing full forward on the weekend for Bendigo and he performed pretty well...kicking three goals and presented well. Just as a backup plan, in case we fall short on forwards next year.....

Much rather have Belly in the ruck and Ryder as a permanent forward. This would be a worst case scenario however as it'd be much better to have a fit and firing Neagle partnering Gumby.

A forward line with both Belly and Daniher simply wouldn't work. You would have to think that Joe is going to be in the side more often than not in 2014 and beyond.
