For all those who said his career was dead - I think it just got hit with a defibrillator. He was one of our best today, absolutely crucial to the win. He was the calm head running to the right spots all day.

He was great today. Good to see him help out the young players. Very unlikely he will be retiring mid season like Simmonds.

We need someone like Cousins to help the team.

Gave Pearce a 3 metre head start to the ball and beat him there clearly in the third quarter.

Great game Cuz

He is a superstar, a gem and an intelligent footballer. He absolutely loves this shit and good on him. He deserves a massive pat on the back tonight, he showed exactly why he is a huge asset to our team.

Cuz, you are brilliant.

One of the best in the wet - runs to the right spots - is clean - a natural and instinctive footballer - losing that yard of pace doesn't hurt him anywhere near as much in the wet.

Conditions were tailor made for Cuz today. Let's hope he backs up okay for next week. Bloody good game from him.

Time and time again ppl judge blokes too early but you should never fall for it when the player is a champion

He’s not out there to win a brownlow , he can no longer do what he did in 2005. He is a link player. He will block, shepherd he will watch the back of the young guys. Just like Kemp, Mckenna , Jakovich etc did for him while he developed and he will do same for the young guys. He ‘s not out there for his glory. He’s a team player. He will take the hits for the young guys just like he did in the Geelong game. If his body can hold out just a few more games it will help the young guys gain confidence to run with the ball, knowing someone is watching their back.

Well said.
Cuz is an onfield assistant coach. Enough said.

Anyone see the piece of play about 8 minutes into the first where he took possession of the ball and spun out of trouble?

I actually laughed it was that good.

Thought cuz was fantastic for you guys.

Here's a great stat - on a day when the average disposal efficiency for both sides was around 55 (51 for Port/61 for Rich), Cousins had the best efficiency of all players on the ground with 85%.

Pure class:thumbsu::thumbsu:
