Sounds like Worps, no star but solid B grade mid. Surprised he hasn't went on with it.

Seeing as we have just let Worps go, maybe our game is moving away from that type of mid but personally wouldn't be against giving him a crack to fight it out with a few others over the last few spots in our line up.
I don’t think there is any maybe about it, the game has hugely moved away from such players and that’s why not just Hobbs but Phillips find themselves on the scrap heap.

It’s tough on them because there are almost certainly much worse footballers still on AFL lists, but they remain because the roles they can play are still seen to have value.

Brodie another in a similar vein, very surprised Port gave him a lifeline.

Maybe then hes willing to go to SA but doubt anywhere else
I would think he'd go anywhere for an AFL lifeline, would dominate State League level which might give him a pathway back to the AFL. Sandover Medal even if Charlie Constable can win one.😉

The one thing he will always have going for him is that he absolutely busts his nut.

Despite the frustration he could cause, I did always respect his effort and he’s one I’d genuinely be happy to see do well elsewhere and feel it’s a real shame it wasn’t to be with us.

Bigger question is can Brad Scott coach, it's one thing to blame Dodoro for all that ails the Bombers but not too many draftees have developed well under Scott in charge?

Only because carr is a fan. No other club was touching brodie with a 10 foot pole.

Yes. Next question

He would go anywhere for a lifeline for sure but gut instinct is a club like Bulldogs who were chasing Robertson and may see Hobbs as a alternative
Jay Clark in today's Herald Sun has both the Suns and Eagles showing plenty of interest in Hobbs, apparently he's still in full training mode hoping to get picked up and ready to go first day of preseason training if he gets a shot. Eagles would be crazy not to give him one of the 4 extra rookie spots the AFL gave them recently as part of their concessions.

Dont think we are smart enough for it. We will probably take Ryan Burton and play him as a inside mid or something

North are stacked for mids already...
Yeah true. Could have been a bigger body at Richmond even. Could see him playing 10 plus games for them next year. Worthwhile for him to stick it out at Borough for a few years and see if he can crack back into the system. You don’t get many people wanting to go back to Horsham!

Im still surprised he didn’t get picked up by someone. Clubs know more than me obviously but could have seen him playing for wce or north. Still better than a lot of players who are on a list atm. Crazy
no clubs are really interested in small inside mids with little upside. will phillips is in the same boat.

Not a chance. We already have Taranto, Hopper and Prestia plus McAuliffe, Lalor, Hotton, Smillie, Campbell, Cumming etc looking for midfield time.

He's just too slow for AFL. Will probably dominate for Port Melbourne though.

Richmond have Taranto and Hopper as the players we play in the middle currently and have 4-5 years remaining in their careers. We then have the younger players like Lalor , McAuliffe , Cumming , Campbell & even Grlj we would be looking to run through the middle to give them games whilst in the rebuild phase the next 3 years to get them upto speed
Also looking to bring in free agents. I believe there is a good reason why the bombers cut him and would be the exact same situation at Richmond.
