Since we're on the topics of some of our 'lesser-lights', who better to discuss than Ben Kinnear?

Yesterday he was appalling! Didn't appear to even be making an effort on many occasions and then would start limping to make it seem like he was carrying an injury - what a jib! That annoys me so much - the faking of an injury when it is really just a lack of talent and endeavour.

Surely noone here would put him in our best 22???

It hurts me to say (I went to school with him and was captain of a team he played in) but I think he's just about done for.
He has a lot of hard work to do.

His only decent spell at the club was at the end of 2001 when he was playing as a mobile ruckman.

He seems to play well against Kouta surprisingly.

If we get injuries he may get a game now and again.

He wouldn't need to be delisted. I'm pretty sure we've got a spot for a rookie because we only have Richo as a veteran.

Not that I'm saying he shouldn't be delisted at the end of the year!

I still hold out hope for Ben Kinnear.

I don't know why, I just do. I compare him to maybe a McCartney or even a Robran or a Barker who were all duds for the first 5 or more years of their careers before they finally came good. It took old Mark Richardson a long time to be an automatic selection as well.

Ben Kinnear could be the next Ronnie McKeown!!! An enigma, full forward one week, full back the next, but always one game away from a blinder or a shocker.

Just face it Kinnear is a dud and i saw him limping around like an idiot....just made more of a fool of himself.
At least Rhyce Shaw shows glimpses of good form, and when hedashes off half back and the wing he looks good...but other than that pretty useless :|

FIGJAM - you are probably right but I did here it from someone who is continually pushing the case to put Roe on the senior list.
BTW I thought Crowe was elevated to the senior list? Although I see he is still listed in the AFL hand book as a rookie.
If he is a rookie then Nic you are right and we have a spot on the list.

Due to Davidson's bad luck, we can fit 2 rookies on our list.

Crow has stress fractures of his leg, so he mightn't go on.

Roe is almost a certainty.

Not good enough to be a hack. I am astounded he lasted another season but this is surely his last. He has not actually played 1 whole good game ever. he can't even stand out in the pre season.

How dare you sully the name of Ronnie. He was a star CHF as a teenaged but his injuries slowed him down and prevented him from ever being able to get fully fit. I recall a game he kicked 6 or 7 and took a screamer against the Swans. Once he was unable to train he lost mobility and pace and went to the backline. He was very unlucky not to be a premiership player. Kinnear is just a crap footballer.

In round 19-22 in 2000 (2001?) when we played against the Bulldogs and lost (I think) he played pretty good as a loose ruckman/chb, he got 3 Brownlow votes for that match and those were the only ever votes he got.

Don't recall the game although I do have a vague recollection of laughing at some brownlow votes he got.

I stand corrected. He played 1 good game and is good enough to be called a hack. Put it on his epitaph.
