Its as simple as bringing in an intelligent former Magpie player to bond with particular players on our list which can encourage them to take their game to another level.
Why don't the Magpies encorporate a former player of the club, who has great footy nous and have him take 1-2 young players go under his wing, it could possibly take those youngsters to another level and really improve the quality of their footy. Who knows, he might just have the right advice for 1 or 2 older players which could benefit their game as well, as Deisel did for Juddy.
We can throw money around at experienced trainers, try signing some big names and spend big wads of cash on new equipment, but footy is still a hobby, its something you do well when you're enjoying it, so maybe it just comes down to the basic need of someone you look up to or respect to just give you pointers on your game.
It could really make a difference.
Former Blues champion Greg Williams, known as "Diesel" in his playing days, has been working with Gibbs after taking up an invitation from his former teammate, Carlton coach Brett Ratten early in the season.
While the dual Brownlow medallist has reportedly encouraged captain Chris Judd to be more creative and adventurous, Williams is also behind Gibbs' rapid development, getting him to work harder on the training track.

. Bit of a gimmick at times, I remember reading that Bryce Gibbs was using Fevola as a mentor, Phwoaaaaaaar
