What does limiting free speech and media censorship have to do with communism? Conroy is a hardline right-winger.
He is a hardline right-winger, which makes his attack on free speech and media laws all the more bemusing!! They were soundly defeated and justifiably so!!

The theme for the night would have to be sport, which is the only reason why Gale would be on. It depends on who the other guests are.

Right -wing of the Labor party is hardly "hardline". Not as if their Tea Party Republicans or something. More like "Wet" Liberals.

Full panel.

A.C. is he a rapper? TV screen might cop another slipper tonight...

BTW and totally unrelated but it's a TV thing....I almost literally bumped into Ellen today. She looks reasonably ok up close...oh wait!

Rappers are considered "philosophers" now? What an age we live in.

He's pretty far right on a global scale. Obviously America is one of the furthest right systems in the world, but even labor left would be considered quite conservative in many parts of the world. You have to be pretty right wing to consider some of the stuff he's proposed.

Hardline probably wasn't the right word though, I just wanted to emphasize that he's pretty conservative.

Good stuff Benny - shows his standing in the sporting world if he has been invited to participate (I'm sure not all AFL club CEOs would be extended such an invitation).

Hope he gives us a plug to boost our membership drive lol.

i enjoyed Q&A a while ago until the swapped intelligence for strong opinions who dont know what there talking about

Agree. It seems the producers want to create a reflection of the variety of opinions people may hold rather than get down to the fact or the truth of a matter. I would prefer to have my opinion challenged if it is incorrect, I don't want a representative to point out every possible view to allow all viewers to walk away feeling more justified on their view than before. I guess it would be a little too confronting though, in the meantime it is a reasonably good program with several great thinkers making appearances. Now Benny is one of them!

Never watched the show before but will watch it to see how Brendon Gale goes talking in a show that isn't footy related. He should be fine, considering the experience he has talking to people as CEO of the Richmond Football Club.
Or the experience from being a lawyer maybe??

Whereas the Murdoch press and News Limited and Liberals would have us all believe they are doing the Public a great service by self regulating their editorial excesses ala phone tapping for 'news'...

The first 2 yes but a bit rich blaming the right on phone taps.

Well thats politics 101. Argue a point, knowing full well your telling lies or fudging the data, to suit a POV even tho you know its wrong.

I cant recall Benny ever being confrontational or easily wound up, he just doesnt seem to buy into other peoples arguments. He's a very measured person who can back up his POV.

Well, he did... OK.
Looked a little uneasy commenting on a couple of social questions but not a fish out of water by any means.
