these 3 should be playing reserves...
Bentick is too slow for AFL...kicking action is very suspect...
Wiggins, well what is there to say...don't rate him at all..
Kennedy...lacks confidence...it shows when guys dont kick to his leads...
and he has very soft hands...drops simple marks...getting a game on reputation at the moment...

a very disappointed supporter leaving the Dome...

The really sad thing is their aren't really to many young guys in the bullants that are knocking on the door. Bentick wasn't our worst though.

Maybe in Edwards Out Wiggins
and Blackwell in for someone even though he hasn't been playing that well.

Based on today's Bullants' game I would suggest it may be In: Bower Out: Wiggins, with Edwards an outside chance to be given a call up, although our forward line was far from disgraced tonight. I think Jarrad Waite could be quickly running out of chances, though. He continues to make mistakes that prove very costly & as stated by another poster, his 3rd quarter probably allowed the Lions back into the game.

In my opinion, you can't attribute a loss to the failed attempts of one player, but he did make some monumental judgement and skill errors in that second half that cost us on the scoreboard. That attempted 'soccer' was a brain-burp if I've ever seen one.

I believe he is better suited to playing forward.

Was great to see Blues at the fall of the ball tonight. Being in Perth I hardly get to see them play live, but a lot of our previous years failures were a result of not having a crumbing player coming through for the loose ball, which i think is an aspect of our game that has improved out of site this season.

Let's not rag on our players, they're young guns with much potential.

Kennedy was a great pickup from East Freo, but yeah, he will come good with time.

surely hartlett has to be a chance!!

he's been solid in the bullants this year and while its his third year on the list (i know he's had plenty injuries) if he's guna have to prove himself to stay on the playing list then give him the opportunity he's worked hard for!!

thoughts?

I've had a dip at these two players in the past, and I'll have another go.

I must be watching a different Carlton team to alot of supporters on this forum because:
BENTICK IS NOT UP TO AFL FOOTBALL.
WAITE IS TOO COSTLY FOR US IN DEFENCE.

How bloody obvious is it. When you bag Bentick, all I hear is yeah but he was great against Essendon and he had a fantastic game against Collingwood last season. BIG DEAL. He is not up to consistently producing week in week out. Opposition teams must laugh at us when they see Bentick as our starting centreman.

Tagged Black and beat him early on..........has been down, but is our best in-and-under mid.
Not there as a finisher, but I think he kicks o.k.
Hard to kick a goal from 45m out off one step with guys bearing down.

Far from our worst tonight. He's no champion, but he does not stop trying (as did a bloke who some wanted to be captaoin last week)

Kennedy had some great touches around the packs all night, but yes, he does seem to get spoiled on the lead a lot, and isn't taking the pack marks we are hoping for.
Has another couple of weeks to show something before being dropped IMO.

Out:
Jackson (wrist)

In: Blackwell

If you think Bentick should be dropped you are watching a different game!! Just watch the opposition midfielders blitz us if he is out.....just watch!!!!

Did you type this as you were leaving?

Waite had a period of 5 minutes I reckon where he made three really bad errors. For mine, he tends to try to be a bit fancy when he should stick to the basics. Took a good mark going back into a Briz opponent but other than that I thought he was costly in defence again.

Bentick was good tonight. Kept Black quiet until late when he faded like everyone else in the midfield. Definitely keep - like we have tons of classy midfielders waiting to come into the side :( .

Bentick was great until Black got over him as expected! He was winning the clearences and hardball, and was instrumental in our midfield domination for the first half.

Kennedy needs to be dropped into the 2s, and we must drop Wiggins. I've been calling for his axing for weeks, now people are starting to realise he is a liability most of the time!

Why do people think Bentick kept Black quiet? geez?!!?!?
Black had 26 disp...a hand in many goals, got a heap out of the middle....

Black's stats by quarter: 4, 9, 8, 5

At the most he kept him relatively quiet for a quarter. Made some terrible errors.

But you're right we have no one better atm and don't think Blackwell is playing that well to demand promotion.

Waite was, quite simply, the worst player on the ground.

There are no more excuses for him. We cannot afford to play him down back for much longer-it's either up forward pushing into the middle, or in the reserves.

His lack of footy smarts really showed last night-error after error after error. And it's not as though they were that forced, he was just plain terrible. Was good to see his team mates let him know, too.

Bentick had a bad night with plenty of his possessions going astray.

Wiggins offers us very little if we play him incorrectly.

Kennedy really lacks in confidence right now. Needs to be sent to the reserves to get his confidence level back up.

Children,

You all just need to calm down. take a nice cold glass of milk, and relax

Firstly, let's discuss Bentick. He is the modern day version of Matty Hogg. Not super fast, not super skilful...but gets a tagging job every week and his body is hard enough to cope. Every team needs a player like this.

Next...Wiggins. He only gets 20 mins of game time every week. Why? I have no clue. But he has very sure hands (much better than Kennedy), and is scared of nothing. His kicking looks aweful, but it is effective (remember Jayson Daniels??). If is goes, then bring in Hartlett. Anyhow, it is a wasted argument. He will be gone when Kouta is back.

Waite. If you want him out, you are on drugs and need to be in LA with Ben. He plays CHB, and this frees Red to play CHF. Did you see the first half? I agree that the off the ground kick was a brain explosion, but i remember Guy McKenna doing the same in Perth and Dean Rice running onto the ball to kick the goal that won us the match in 1995. Was McKenna a dud?

Kennedy. He will be greart trade bait come the end of the season. Just not up to it. Remember Luke Livingston?

I urge you all to read this forum:

it would be pretty hard for JK now. It is not his fault he is not getting the ball. When your playing in a team with a forward in Fevola you wouldnt expect to get the ball. our team always looks for 3 people Fev, Lance or Fisher. Last night i noticed Jk was on a lead up the corridor(10 metres) in front and they went for Fev in the pocket. The result punched out of bounds. I seen Jk reaction and he throw his hands in the air like saying What About Me. I noticed late in the game kennedy was in the backline almost running with the ball. Give him a break he may be a late bloomer and when lance and lappin move on he will be a good player. I just believe he may need time in the 2's for some confidence. Bring Hartlett in and Blackwell for Wiggins.

Wiggins reminds of Cheif Wiggins (The Simpsons)

Jarrad Waite has been arounhd for 5 years in the forward line then suddenly thrown in the backline. Will take alot of time to get used to it. Waite is a talented footy player and just needs rto learn to put his head over the ball. Even under 12's wouldnt kick of the ground. He made a few mistakes last night eg. out on full, kicking of ground and not punching.
Fact is we dont really have another athletic and fit CHB of his stature.

Im confident we will beat St. Kilda as we may have the calibre up forward and i think if denis can implant the right game plan we can win.

Go Blues!!

For those that remember back that far, Rohan Welsh was the same. No one would kick the ball to him even though he led well. They all looked for Sticks. Result.....Welsh GONE

Why? His team mates didn't respect his abilities

Same is happening to JK....

Trade him out. Dont need him anyway. We got Fev, Red and the Fish
