Naitanui has no middle ground with posters and fans of oppo clubs.
He's either s**t/overrated or worth every cent.
Naitanui is both.

He is/was fantastic at a couple of things.

Horrendous and sub 2nd tier footy standard at pretty much everything else.

The debate is whether his couple of fantastic qualities outweighed the liability he was everywhere else.

Fitness/endurance.

Kicking for any type of touch or finesse.

Ability to read the play.
He's actually a good kick, given he is highly contested in nature, he's not exactly out there trying to do dinky/touch kicks. Not sure that means he's by default bad at it.

He can read the play fine as when he was at his fittest, he was a constant road block down the line for the opposition. The issue is around his fitness. He's an explosive monster that doesn't have a natural endurance inclination, it's been further destroyed by two knee reco's. He used to average mid 70's in terms of TOG, including a career best 82% before his knees went.

He has his strengths and weaknesses, but to argue that he is a 2nd tier footy standard is a bit much. Especially given almost every rating system rates him extremely highly for what he does on field.

Wow - that's some serious bias.

have a look at his ruck work once in a while..
Ruck work is so overrated. Ruckmen would have similar stats if they just randomly tapped the ball in any direction. The best ruckman average around a third of their hit outs to advantage, a third neutral and a third to disadvantage. The highlights only show the taps to advantage and idiots like BT convince people like you that they are giving "Silver Service".

Pick any top ruckman, get a pen a paper, watch a game, and make a note of every ruck contest, then tell me that it's worth looking at his ruck work.

ok

Thats why the best ruckmen are paid a fortune a year.... cos they are over rated. I am sure you would make a great list manager and pick no rucks

That's some serious overrating going on.

Natanui has always had low football IQ and poor skills. take out the effort and athleticism and he is a very poor footballer. For a bloke his size and athleticism to average 1.75 marks per game is absolutely terrible. He struggles to read the play and just chases the ball, normally a play behind.
"Poor skills".
OK
