I might have to go back and listen to some Ike and Tina Turner. I have avoided anything and everything they have ever done because of my blinding hatred of Nutbush City Limits and Tina's solo stuff.

The wraps they are getting in this thread suggests I have been missing something quite solid.

It doesn't get much funkier than this, Fuzzy doing an awesome JB impersonation to some nasty guitar licks....(and my avatar :D)

My contribution to the I & T love....

Any love for Latin Funk?

My fave LF album is by Joe Bataan, who was responsible for some of the sweetest latin soul tunes of the sixties.

Released the funky as ****, "Salsoul" in 1973.

Here's the best track from it . . .

Going through this thread was like watching that renegades of funk video clip (the RATM version) :D

Definately have to trawl through some of these recommendations have a lot of love for Curtis Mayfield but not really educated like some of you are on this genre.

Awesome tunes/picks Krishölio but fare my favourite flavour is funk which didn#t make me so cool growing up in the grunge filled early 90#s

Forgot what a wonderful groove "touch of love" is ........ thanks....

Marvin Gayes "Got to give it up" has got to be up there as one of the all time funkiest tracks
