Buckenaras goal off the ground in the 86 GF bouncing end over end was genius. He clipped the ball beautifully and deliberately.

Cyril kicked a ripping slider goal that he knew would bounce back the other way eventually to bounce thru. Was at the G maybe v St K or Richmond.

1990 round 1 at Waverley. Hawks 192 v Geelong 77. Incredible GF replay result.
Dunstall nearly took mark of the year at the non-scoreboard end. The Freak Morrissey hit the pack at full pace. Ball landed in his lap as he ran full pace toward the boundary line. Left foot goal from the pie stand was indeed freakish.
Go Hawks

The Freak…his left foot barrel on the run in the 1991 GF was a beauty.

As others have mentioned, Jars snap goal to seal the QF same year against Geelong was absolute class.

Cyril and Roughie's set shots outside 50 in successive years to beat Sydney in the final minutes deserves an honourable mention.
Came here to say this. Love a big bomb set shot.

The Roughie goal holds a special place for me as I'd travelled up there for the game, expecting to get belted.

Haven't celebrated a goal/win that hard since. (Also Ty Vickery's one Hawk highlight with the kick to Roughead lol)

Langford's take down of JPK and dribble from the pocket that pops up perfectly is forever burned into my mind. Love that goal.

Also the Buddy hurdle end to end goal.

Oh and Cyril's dance lessons against Essendon.

Another contender - John Peck's winning goal after the siren v Collingwood at Victoria Park.
Hawks' 1st win there.

There's no footage of that is there?

stemline?
I hope there isn't footage of this tbh.
It grew in the telling each time my older family members talked about it.
I'm happy to think he was 230 meters out and kicking into a force 9 hurricane.

Does anyone remember one that Lethal kicked against Melbourne in the early 80’s? Trapped on the boundary in the forward pocket and sold candy to 2 or 3 opponents and then dribbled it through. He would just wiggle his hips a couple of inches and leave opponents grasping at thin air!

J Barker.

2001.

Moron Park vs Port.

Would have loved to have been there.

I was there. The crowd was as feral as I've ever seen, surpassed the old Vic Park experience even.

Not proud to admit I got as full as 10 men myself that night and gave more than I got....and things got pretty ugly.

Security made me wait till the entire bay and 2 surrounding bays were cleared before they would escort me out.

Even then, some of their learned followers still hung around to pelt our vehicle with full stubbies.

But that Johnny Barker reverse fade goal that match was insane. Could only have ben surpassed by a late Trent Croad goal a week later.

Be proud. I’m so jealous tbh.

just as a change of pace, we were playing North at Arden street in the rain and mud.
Final siren was about to go in a low scoring game. We were 1 point in front. Ball was going to the North goals and picked up by Blight who kicked a point to level the scores. Siren went just as this was happening. Luckily (for us) Ayres had pushed
Blight in the back during kicking. umpire paid a free to Blight for a kick after the siren. From memory, wasn't far out from goal nor was it a difficult angle!

Missed everything and we won by a point!

I like Hodges early goal in the 2015 semi against the crows. After losing to the eagles we needed to set the tone early and he did that. The reaction to the goal was strong maybe had something to do with the drink driving a charge a few weeks earlier as well not sure but it felt very important at the time.

In the mid 70's at Arden street, a loose ball bounced up right near the boundary line in the right forward pocket. Mike Moncrief didn't take possession, just kicked the ball in mid air across his body very close to the boundary line and somehow it went through for a goal. The Hawthorn fans and cheer squad behind the goals went absolutely nuts. There was some footage of the goal I saw once but it really didn't do it justice. Easily the best goal I've ever seen.
