No other Hawthorn goal epitomizes the Hawthorn way like this one - the Hard way.

Hurdles after hurdle, met with determination and fortitude.

“Teamwork is the thing that talks”

So so good.
I was going to say Buddy v Ess or the hurdle v Coll.I was going to say the Rioli one two but that takes the prize for me

I remember seeing footage of Huddo kicking a goal directly over his head once and couldn't believe it. Cant find that now.
Imagine if he hadn't done his knee

** Also want to post Smith's goal on the run from the 2012 grand final, but I might get lynched :p

I thought about the 2012 GF goal as well. As shit as the game was the end of that 3rd qtr was so fun to watch us mount a comeback then hit the front like that.

Crawfords goal from the boundary in the 08 prelim was also one I never see on replay. Couldn’t have been more hemmed onto the boundary, turned out to be his last ever too

Buds goal in the 2011 prelim last qtr was just ridiculous, the controlling of the space and path of the ball and the pure skill to dribble through with the outside of left, amazing. To go back a bit, without being able to be specific. Jimmy Morrissey kicked some incredible goals. But I do love a team goal. The Dew/Williams effort and goal in 2008 gf is brilliant.

from an emotional perspective for me it has to be burgoyne vs geelong 2013 prelim

The Willo/ Dew goal was the best teamwork goal from us ive seen.

Burgoyne 2013 Prelim goal for significance. It set up the 3 peat.

That's it for me. Buddy's goal against Collingwood in the prelim 2011 was truly something else. Had we won, it would be in discussion for best goal of all time. In AFL history there'd only be around 2-3 players even capable of kicking a goal like that against such a high quality opponent in Chris Tarrant, who was wearing him like a glove. Given the context of the game and level of difficulty I think it's up there.

The Williams / Dew goal in the ‘08 GF is my favourite Hawthorn highlight ever. It was the moment when I went from thinking ‘this is getting exciting ‘ to ‘we now should win’. We were sitting in the second row behind the point post at that end, so had a very close up perfect view if it too.

Another favourite from the same finals series was Buddy’s goal v Brian Lake in the Qualifying Final, when he brought a high ball to ground and then curled in the goal on his left from outside 50.

There's no footage of that is there?

stemline?

The actual ball kicked by Pecky for that famous goal has been on display in the Hawk Museum at Waverley.
It is now packed up, and I am sure will be again on display when the Museum is all set up at Dingley.

Don't believe there is any footage - if there was, I am sure it would be in the Peck collection - 2009 Hall of Fame inductee.

That’s the one.

Dunstalls goal in the 1996 merger match to put us into the finals and kick his tenth was special.

In all seriousness, though, I find it difficult to go past Burgoyne's 2013 preliminary final goal against Geelong. Hawthorn were 20 points down at three-quarter time against a team they had lost a dozen games (or thereabouts) in a row, with a spot in the grand final on the line. I daresay that if Hawthorn had lost again to Geelong, Clarkson would have been given the sack by Kennett. Hawthorn kicked, clawed and scratched their way back into contention in the final quarter, and Burgoyne's goal was the cherry on top, but it was not an individual goal. Gunston and Lewis both played their role in creating the opportunity for Burgoyne to take.

At 2:50 onwards. Insanely good team goal - first quarter of the grand final rematch and we just blew Freo off the park. We were at the peak of our powers of that era - love it.

That one is so good, starts with Lewis pushing back into defence to cover a man, then Gibson helping make the 1v1 a 2v1 with the spoil. We pressure, than spangher spoils to sheils who gives back to spangher, then he kicks to rioli and puopolo and then to bruest.

It really should have been an easy goal to the dockers but they were too poorly skilled and made poor decisions. Ballantine and crowley with really poor kicks.
