A while back I posted a poll asking who was the best player under 50 games: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=287455

What I have done now is take the 5 highest vote getters in that poll as well as the reigning Rising Star winner, Danyle Pearce, and have decided to find out who you think will be the best player for 2007 from that group.

As a guide of some sort I have included a link to a comparison of the 6 players and their careers: http://finalsiren.com/PlayerCompare...ers=1529,1399,1551,1526,1119,1605,&Compare=Go

It will be interesting to come back at the end of the 07 season and see who won the poll (it will close before the start of the season) and see if the opinions of the fans here are, in fact, correct.

I'll guess McLean. Got a lot of Ricciuto about him - tough and consistent.

Franklin might explode though.

Simpson, whilst good, is the odd man out here. I rate him highly though.

i chose deledio because i think he'll start running more and be very damaging.

I also think pearce and buddy will be big improvers as well, top 5 in their respected club b&f's.

I think McLean has shown more in the past, but Deledio will show more in the future. So I say Lids.

Foley and Tambling are the two other main picks at my club that I expect to greatly improve.

Brocky. Never seen a harder bloke than this kid since Archer. They way he possses him self, they way he attacks the ball, the way he plays just amazes me. No disrespect to the other blokes but this guy is starting to shine and now his been put with the leadership group which is a good effort. Well done mclean!

All of the players listed above have been used in predominant roles for their respective clubs excluding Griffen.

Deledio and McLean are already considred the best midfielders at their club or close to it and used alot in the midfield as has pearce. Franklin is already relied on to kick goals for Hawthorn and Simpson is just about Carltons best midfielder already and also relied on heavily to perform.

Whilst Griffen, right now may not be better then the others mentioned, i Believe he has the most scope for improvement as he has been used predominantly as a HBF this year, When Rocket starts relying on him for bigger and better jobs, Griff will have more oppurunity to show his class, skill and footy smarts as he did when given the job on G.Ablett in his first year.

Therefore my vote goes to Griffen.

Good post, it's nice to see some reasoning behind an opinion for once.
