Keen to find out the best places to go out in Australia. Planning a trip around with mates and just thinking what places to hit in the major cities. Perhaps turn this thread into a discussion about the various nightspots Australia has to offer.

I'n Adelaide I'm a big fan of The Elephant. Good bands, good set up. Don't mind Swish, either. Other Adelaideians feel free to add your opinion.

What are some other places around Aus that are worth a look? (considering we are a group of uni students in our early 20's, so places appealing to our demographic)

The Tote - one of the most famous venues in australia, always a great spot to catch some music

Der Raum - one of the best bars in the world (apparently). great cocktails

Bar none - another great cocktail bar. staff know the drinks menu inside out and will always give good recommendations. usually comes with live jazz band or a cult movie without sound. (not a place to pick up though)

Ding Dong - music music music music music tattoos and music

EuroTrash - this place has gone down hill since the mid 00's imo. but seems to be getting more popular every week... they do have a lgbt night once a month if you're into that

Croft Institute - downstairs is you're high schools old science lab and upstairs is you're high schools old gym... with a grass bar. distill their own vodka, usually has really good tunes. opened a rooftop recently as well iirc

For a good, sort of quiet night at a bar for some beers go to The Flying Scotsman in Mount Lawley or The Generous Squire in CBD Perth.

Again, we are South Australian. Adelaide's HQ is possibly the rankest piece of shit nightclub in the world.

The flying scottsman has a weird crowd/vibe (upstairs anyway), id rather be at the Queens or The brisbane further down the road.

Id vote for the Hula Bula bar, tiger lils, Hip-E or Carnegies.

Bar120

Bar120 is possibly the greatest club on Earth though. The Wenesday Leedy/Bar1 combo cannot be beaten.

You disgust me

I posted Bar120 + Leedy to match clive's list of epic shit clubs. Places like Paramount, the Deen and Metros City can also be added.

I do like Capitol and Amps though. Carnegies is pretty good every now and then. For places in Nedlands, Basement on Broadway is a good place as well as Captain Stirling.
