Best ongoing team structure

Every single team has Gumby starting.

Is he really that clearly best 22?

He is 24/25 and can't crack the team ATM. Plus we have Daniher who will be pushing also.

Someone mentioned it in the GWS review thread. We play better without Crameri, I'll add the qualifier "being relied on as a key forward". Don't ask me why it is so difficult for Hurley and Crameri to find space, lead into it, take marks and kick (goals if forward). They just don't do it. Gumby does it relatively effortlessly. It is a crucial element of forward structure that provides a certainty that brings the rest of the forwards into the game (as either crumbers or guys who benefit from the newly vacated space).

Gumby's ability to hit the scoreboard last year, with 2.5 months preparation in about 6 years, and this year ought not be underrated. Give him a 10 week run at it and I think we'll start seeing something pretty special.

There is then the promise of the most dominant key defensive trio I've ever seen playing each week which vacates some space in the selected forwardline.

Preaching to the converted here... Don't understand why TRB don't see it. Not the first or last time i will say that i guess... Build the backline around Carlisle and Hurley. Build the forward line around Gumby or JD. That is the difficulty for mine, which of the two do you choose. To choose neither is gob-smacking.

Can anyone confirm if the 2 games that Joe Daniher played (Carlton,GCS I think) was Bellchambers dropped for both games.

I suspect Hirdy has been reluctant to play Bellchambers Ryder & Daniher in the one team.

TIA

Found it! Bellchambers didn't play the two games Joey Daniher played which was Carlton and GCS.

From memory I think TBC was omitted?

I was surprised to see Hirdy try the trio of Ryder TBC JD for the first time this year against the top side.

Well it didn't work last night and I'm not sure that we will get away with this structure against the lower placed teams either.

B Baguley Carlisle Fletcher
HB Hibberd Hooker Dempsey
C Stanton Watson Heppell
HF Winderlich Hurley Melksham
F Crameri Bellchambers Kommer
FOLL Ryder Goddard Myers
INT Hocking Howlett Zaharakis Colyer (s)

I would like to see this team string a number of games together and play against the top 3 and see where we are really at.

Havent done one of these but after last night this is how i want it

C Stanton Watson Heppell
