Sometimes I think they just pull half a dozen names out of the hat when naming best players.

They just look at the stats and name the highest possesion getters. Lazy journalists that don't know the game.

Wouldn't think so seeing the game reports are usually up within a few minutes of the game finishing.

That's what happens at lower level games were the media don't attend, but not at AFL level. I believe the reporter doing the write up would do them.

Look its purely an opinion piece, and like all opinion peices like movie reviews etc, it should be taken with a pinch of salt. Just have a look at our POTY votes and see the variety to see different opinions of the very same game. We all interpret it differently it seems?
