Those reserves matches were classics, Don Scott and Peter McKenna, I think, where always at each other. It seemed pretty rare when they would actually call the game.

Paul Salmon leads out. The ball bounces in front of him and does and off break. He manages to fully stretch out (1) and control the ball. He then wheels around on his right boot evading the Geelong tackler (2) and snaps it rround his body for a great goal (3)

The commentary goes like this:

(1) Salmon, does well..
(2) Does very well
(3) Does extremely well

as his voice gets higher and more excited..

The Blues I think. That was the year they were heading for their first wooden spoon before they strung a couple of wins together late in the season to avoid the humiliation. This was the same season where a Kangas supporter ran out during a game at Optus Oval and gave Silvagni (I think) a wooden spoon
