I've honestly been waiting for him to stop being a liability since 2013. He showed some pretty good glimpes last year, but he still turns it over worse than Ruggles and in far more critical points of the match. Almost like our Isaac Smith except not as established player wise.

Scooter will play most games....I suspect Blitz will get his fair share as well. Our depth is good....though an injury to Henderson or Taylor would cause issues I think. Everywhere else looks like there is reasonable depth.

I haven't seen House or Gardner play and have no confidence in Kolo playing key back. Lets hope Hendo and Harry stay fit.

So would Hawkins getting injured be a problem also.

Imo it's that Blitz and Scooter aren't sexy enough in their gamestyle, so people can end up overlooking what they bring.

I love the way scooter goes about his game, yeah it's not sexy but hard work normally is rewarding.

as a defensive mid scooter offers more and better possessions and twice the tackles of blicavs

It might be that some just don't think they're that good. Blicavs has had five seasons hammered into him with zero threat of ever being dropped, yet he still (with admirable consistency) serves up shit in finals. Scott Selwood is better, but the talk about him being an elite tagger went strangely quiet when it became obvious he's not.

im fine with scooter being in the team as a defensive mid but im also fine if he is sacrificed for youth, just saying his contribution as a defensive mid is far superior to blicavs

Your post is lazy and gutless, its long been established that blicavs is poor in finals. If you pay attention to the games then there are always plenty of deer in the headlights moments during high pressure games from blicavs.

The evidence is obvious to anyone who watches the games. 2013 Qualifying Final, 2013 Preliminary Final, 2014 First Semi-Final, 2016 Preliminary Final, 2017 Qualifying Final, and 2017 Preliminary Final. I guess they could be just isolated examples.

Those three would be starting 18 at most clubs. Improvement next season needs to include players like them, not be built on arbitrary dislikes.

I understand (don't agree with) the criticism of Blicavs, can see the argument for Kolo.
However putting Menegola in that category is utter nonsense. The guy just finished 6th in our B&F but now needs to be depth for us to improve.

One could almost visualise the MC... MC..do we have a finals problem... No we do not have a finals problem ...I believe there is no ongoing finals deficiency .. all failures where just one off bits of bad luck and good play by our opponents and if we just played to our systems better we would have won...
To be fair I feel 2017 may have actually rung the bell for a few with in the the club.. we will see. At least they didn't start our drafting in the 50's again.
