what about luciano??? I have heard Macca immitate Luciano and did a great job, its on the miles of tape from the aborted get back project but no one else probably has seen it. Ke also outsings michael jackson on say say say sounding more soulful than any r and b black singers

Best not including opera/classical singers (cause they destroy everyone else) right now would be Roy Khan from a band called Kamelot.

Have a listen to "The Coldest Winter Night," "Lunar Sanctum," "Don't You Cry," or "Abandoned" (there's a lot more) if you don't believe me!

He's in the same league as guys like Freddie Mercury, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson and Jeff Buckley vocally and that's a pretty exclusive league.

Speaking of Mint Condition - Stokely is da bomb !

Jeff buckley wasnt technically a great singer,just listen to some of his live stuff.Sang with all his soul but was not a great singer.

That's not true. While he didn't have the most powerful voice he had a 4 octave range and flawless control. He was also one of the most versatile singers in history. Freddie Mercury and Mike Patton are the only two I can think of in the same league versatility wise. Trust me, he was a great, great singer. He once did a rendition of the opera song "Dido's Lament" for a primarily classical/opera audience and blew them away. You can find the performance on limewire.

Buble isn't bad, good singer, don't know about Craig David though...

Personally, although it's subjective, I would say for me it would have to an Australian. I love the earthy, roughy sound our singers we have, Nick Cave, the lead singer from Powderfinger - Bernard or something, the singer from The Whitlams, Neil Finn, Paul Kelly etc.
