KFC is absolutely rank if it isn't cooked properly. If you don't live in a busy area there's about a one hour window at lunch and dinner where you can get fresh, well cooked chicken and chips. Any other time and the strips and chips have been sitting in the warmer for five hours and are as dry as a day old dog turd. Either that or they have to cook it while you wait and you get raw chips with undercooked chicken.

And don't get me started on them forgetting to put salt on the chips. You may as well just eat cardboard.
This is Ocean Grove KFC in a nutshell, I got to the point a few months ago where I had to go back into and ask for salt on my chips. Avoid it entirely now. As for favorite, Pizza and Fish and Chips are easily the best for me, although as far as chains go, nothing beats Nandos. Exceptional, and to my delight, they've started selling their peri-peri salt in bottles :p

There's a chicken shop in Whittlesea, the one run by the asian people (there's more that one chicken shop). That's pretty good. Fish & chips? University hill (bundoora), good flake. As far as sweet treats go, Sargents cakes in reservoir. The choc banana cupcake is the best treat you will ever eat (they don't make it that often though). As far as the major chains go, subway least disappoints me.

Gino's Pizza lalor
I've found you could eat half the pizza, and still not feel full. Otherwise it's fine.

Who would have thought the mighty chicken salt could be de-throned eh? Love peri-peri salt.. :thumbsu:

Kebabs are the food of Gods. Best ones are always in the filthy areas (I'm looking at you Deer Park, Footscray).

Roxy's in Deer Park - Best kebabs I've had.

Don't think I have ever had a feed at Ocean Grove KFC that I've enjoyed. Would have to be one of the worst KFC outlets going around, and that is saying something. The BBQ chicken shop nearby do superb chips/fried chicken and so I go there instead.

Agree that Nandos are the best as far as chain restaurants are concerned, however their prices are pretty exhorbitant.

Probably a bit weird but I molest our local Indian shop for Tandoori Lamb chops and I reckon they plain beat everything.

Also probably get the Cheap as Chips from KFC at least once a week, which is hit and miss but when it's good it's golden.

I'm in love with Crust. Bit pricey, but my mate works there and can get me $10 larges. Cops also get a 50% discount so whenever I'm with my policeman friend we splurge.

The f*cking Peri Peri chicken. Yes.

I would say fish and chips but at least here in Perth the price is getting beyond a joke

Only a few years ago you got one piece of fish and ordering more than $5 of chips was more than any one person could dream of eating

Now its $11 for a piece of fish and a couple of chips

Never order more than 5 dollars worth of chips, it's the point of diminishing returns.

Zorbas on Sydney rd was the best. Now they've closed and my life sucks more. In the USA, can I get an amen for in and out burgers? A double double with animal style fries. This beats anything in Australia and also America.
