Ok so Mitchell is playing afterall but during the week I was thinking... What is worse, losing Hodge and Mitchell or losing Barlow and Fyfe?

Basically I want opinions: Which duo is "better", Fyfe/Barlow or Mitchell/Hodge?

Mitchell & Hodge.
I dont even think freo fans will argue Fyfe & Barlow are a bigger loss then hawthorns bast player and captain, well at least not in the context of the 2014 season.

1. Fyfe
2. Barlow/Mitchell
3. Hodge

Fyfe is now the best player of the group and Barlow is on par with Mitchell (when he is actually playing in the midfield and not getting cheap kicks in the backline) and ahead of Hodge.

Fyfe/Barlow quite easily all things considered.

If we're talking about Friday nights game then Fremantles outs hurt way more. Hawthorn have an embarrassment of riches on the half back line, they won't miss Hodge much. If Mitchell misses then they'll just give Burgoyne more time in the centre and he is an elite clearance player. Fremantle's best chance to win is by crushing Hawthorn in the clearances. This isn't going to happen with 2 of their best 3 stoppage players out.

I think this game shows Fyfe/Barlow is the bigger out. Hodge out, Mitchell done next to nothing, except Hawthorn are easily on top.

When I posted it and they first got out to the huge lead, he had done next to nothing.

Your argument of trying to use an isolated match as "evidence" is nonsensical. Mitchell is and has been the best performed player of that lot for a number of years.

Obviously Mitchell is the best of the lot.

I was saying that, to their respective teams, losing Barlow/Fyfe hurts Freo more than losing Mitchell/Hodge would hurt the Hawks. Because despite missing Hodge and basically missing Mitchell, the Hawks still managed to open up a nearly 10 goal lead.

Must have missed when Fyfe passed Mitchell.
