Who has a better young midfield Western Bulldogs or Richmond?

Cooney, Cross, Griffen, Birss, Ray vs.
Coughlan, Tuck, Deledio, Tambling, Meyer vs.
Mitchell, Lewis, Bateman, Miller, Hodge

Please correct me if I should change somebody. I didn't put down Hodge (back man)or Giansiracusa (Forward)

"sigh"
Hodge has played EVERY SINGLE GAME smack-bang in the guts. Just like yesterday when played in the centre, tagged by WC #1 tagger, Tyson Stenglein. Still amassed 35 possies and 7 clearances.

You put Tambling in who's played possibly 2% game-time in the centre, yet leave out Hodge who has maybe 99% in the guts?

So Hawthorn's future midfield reads: Hodge, Mitchell, Bateman, Lewis, Miller(and throw in pick 1/2, Xavier Ellis/Marc Murphy from the 2005 draft).

You can lose Birss, he is lucky to be in our best 22. You can add Giansiracusa, Boyd, Hahn. Why havent you named any ruckman, someone has to tap it down to these blokes and they do play in the midfield. So then you can add Wil Minson to our list, the best young ruckman in the game.

Minson has taken 2 contested marks for his career.

Pathetic.

Mitchell - Number 1 clearance player in the league. Give him 2 years and itll be by a flemington straight length.
Hodge- Superstar
Lewis - Up and comer
Bateman - Starting to really tear it up
Miller- Yet to show his full potential...

I like it :)

But, Doggies have benifitted greatly by early picks for their midfield. You cant go past Coon, Griff, Ray, Cross etc...

The "contested mark" statistic is a joke!!!!!

Last week Wayde Skipper took 2 marks in one on one battles with Cameron Mooney, and neither were credited as "contested".

The bulldogs by a fair margin. They not only have the best young midfield but the best youngsters full stop.

No.

They edge it, for sure, but by no means are they ahead "by a fair margin".

the dogs by a long way and then the tigers

No I'd have the Dogs, than the Hawks (even if it's a tad slow) and the Tigers are a fair way behind.

But he got 5 perfect hit outs to Cooney that resulted in goals....go figure. Contested marks aren't the be-all and end-all of being a ruckmen.

It would definitely be Bulldogs, Hawks & Tigers in that order, but the Tigers aren't massively behind Hawthorn anymore than Hawthorn are massively behind the Hounds.

Bulldogs own North.

But it is still a liability.

Swifty_446.....ask the clown how many contacted Marks by any Ruckman in the comp. It will be almost none per game!

Game is not played that way anymore.

I don't really care what people say, our actions speak louder on the field these days. Minson is a great young ruckman, tough as nails, and really has a red hot go. Can't wait for him to be tapping it down to Cooney and kicking it long to Darcy in the square in 2006.

Miller really knows how to find the ball. At the moment his disposal is very poor, but once that is corrected he will be excellet.

He really, REALLY reminds me of David Rodan. Every time I watch Box Hill I think Rodan has swapped teams :)

Your right Ghost. can find the ball but his disposal is ver dissapointing, also his defensive part of the game needs alot of work, he doesn't like to man up at all.
