It’s actually made me (among a couple of other things) contemplate the question, what would make me turn my back on the club.

The answer is there is nothing.

I know it’s not the point of the thread but we’re all here because we are likely all shades of the same thing.

Changed my avatar a number of times over the years but, just like the NMFC themselves, I've never found a suitable replacement for Scott Thompson.

I can admit now it was me on the North site forum who troll announced Rick Olarenshaw's retirement a couple of weeks into the season because he'd already broken down.

Unsurprisingly not long after he really did retire midseason after playing 1 quarter for the club.

We paid pick #37 for a guy every one already knew was an aging broken down hack.

Fortunately those days are behind us and we now nail all our experienced player trades and valuations.

Last episode it was down to me and Mav.

Flawed Genius (he denies it but, I know) stepped forward towards Mav and started saying "will you accept this ro.." when Mav blurted out "if Lindsay Thomas was in this room right now I'd kill him with a rusty pitchfork. No regrets".

Poor FG didn't know what to do, looked at the producer who just shrugged and after an eternity stepped forward with some heartfelt words "Hey I'm actually not sure who you are, they said I had to play along to finish the series even though I'd already picked out Mav on Day 1.. well looks like you might have it by default, um, champ?"

And that was it. Win by default. Nothing sweeter.

I can’t remember the year exactly but I think it was close to when Majak put that massive don’t argue fend off on Milky White from Richmond in a pre season game and Richmond were our bunnies back then.

They have gone on to win premierships and we are ummmm . Yeh
