I was of the opinion that if a player makes a three then you score 4 (for the 3PM) + 1 (for the FGM) + 3 (for each point) = 8 points... can you please confirm or deny this young gun

It's 4 pts for the 3pm which includes the 3pts + 1 for the FG made.

So each 3p gets 5pts in total.

Like how about positions like C/PF and PF/SF or SG/PG

There will be 1 PG, 1 SG, 2 PG/SG, 1 SF, 1 PF, 2 SF/PF, 2 C's and 4 bench places on each team.

so you have 1 PG, 1 SG and 2 of either PG or SG on the field
so you could say put Chris Paul (PG), Dwyane Wade (SG), Baron Davis (PG) and Steve Nash (PG)
