Went and had a look at Darley vs Bacchus marsh. Darley look a completely different side to last year. No.9 Brian Graham had it on a string. His (twin?) brother not too bad either. Real impressed with the big CHF Kyle Docherty led up and provided a contest every time. Scotland can still find the footy.

Jarrah was very good, but looked much more damaging last year when Cupido & Richardson were deep forward allowing Jarrah to roam where ever he wanted & he was there only real threat inside forward 50 Sunday. Darleys "bottom 6" were far better than Marshs "Bottom 6" on the day. Still only round 1, id expect Marsh to pick it up from Sunday.

Melton went down to Sunbury, I know its still early days, but I thought the bloods could step it up this year, they play Darley this week and are a good chance to be 0-3. not a good start.

Round Three Fixture Changes at North Ballarat

The McDonald’s Ballarat Football Netball League have confirmed that next weekend’s Round 3 night match between North Ballarat City and Redan will revert to a day game.

As construction of the new stands at Eureka Stadium Grandstand progresses towards a June completion, additional lighting on the new stand is set to be installed over the coming weeks to provide supplementary ground lighting. This will not be completed in time for next weekend’s round of matches.

Spectators are advised that there are large sections of the ground that will be inaccessible to the general public throughout the day as construction continues and are requested to obey any signage displayed at the ground and do not to enter the construction site.

The BFNL have confirmed that the following match times will apply for the North Ballarat City v Redan matches next weekend:

Senior Football: 2:15pm
Reserve Football: 11:55am
U/18 Football: 9:55am
A Grade Netball: 2:30pm
B Grade Netball: 1:15pm
C Grade Netball: 12:00pm
D Grade Netball: 11:00am
19 & Under Netball: 10:00am

Still waiting for a melton south v north city match report by the panther posters ? Where's Pat D

Will Young might turn out to be one of the pick ups of this year. Will get better delivery & better decks than he did at Newlyn. Depth will be north city's downfall.

Ballarat down North. Not too many would have expected that. Hutchy has the boys up and about early in the year.
2 rounds in looks like an even competition, taking out Sebas. How many sides look like playing finals? Marsh, Lakers, Darley, Redan look like definites, and probably can only rule out Melton and Sebas, and maybe East

The Senior Football team representing the League will be as follows:
Ballarat FNL v Bendigo FL
Scott Sherlock Bacchus Marsh
Jarrah Maksymow Bacchus Marsh
Dean Heta Bacchus Marsh
Jackson Bolton Bacchus Marsh
Shane Page Darley
Dan Roy Darley
Brian Graham Darley
Chris Graham Darley
Daniel Tung East Point
Nathan Pring Lake Wendouree
Nick Peters Lake Wendouree
Braedan Kight Melton
Jack Walker Melton
Ben Sortino Melton South
Nick Kommer Melton South
Ryan Hobbs North Ballarat City
Will Young North Ballarat City
Ryan Luke North Ballarat City
Liam Hoy Redan
Nathan Horbury Redan
Chris Giampaolo Redan
Callum Currie Redan
Adam Short Sunbury

This coming Saturday night will be a huge moment for the Sebastopol Football Club. The newly redeveloped Marty Busch Reserve will be on show for all to see, marking a new era for the club. Gone are the days of the Burra footballers trawling through the mud in search of the footy. The $1.7 million revamp by Ballarat City Council of the ground is complete and the ground is now a state-of-the-art footy facility. And to make the occasion even bigger, former AFL star Brendan Fevola will be pulling on the boots for opposition Melton South. Check out the amazing photos below to see how the oval has been transformed.

What a transformation. I love how much the city of Ballarat put in to their facilities.

What an odd shape it was!

Best of luck to the Sebas boys and girls in their big games tomorrow night. Hope you get a big crowd with the South sideshow in town.
With a south win maybe Patty D will come out from under his rock and tell us how good they are again.

Eureka Stadium readied for tomorrow's game North Ballarat City against Redan.

Went along to see Ballarat v Melton at Alfredton yesterday. Ballarat looked good early on with some good ball movement resulting in 5 straight goals. The second half was a different story with Melton taking charge with their bigger bodies over the Ballarat youngsters who looked to be fatigued. Some positive signs for Ballarat this season and a good win for Melton.

Fantastic night. Was great to see the ground packed and social club after the game. Well done. Just wish the Melton council would take note of what Ballarat have done.

Must say after visiting Sebastapol/Melton South as a neutral footy follower in July last year I was thinking "and this is meant to be major league footy."
Both Snibbo and Peddo couldn't stand anywhere, there wasn't a blade of grass and was a far cry from what I expected in a thriving AFL Goldfields environment.

Full credit to all involved, it must be a tough market with so many clubs within close range out your way, hopefully going forward the facility is a strong selling point to newbies.

Proper footy is back this week. Some interesting games.
Sunbury v East - Sunbury have been playing good footy without the results on the board. They need to beat East if they are playing finals.
Melton v Lakers - Huge game again for Melton, but Lakers will be likely too strong
Marsh v South - Big test for both, a loss for Marsh could hurt top two chances. If South get beat easy then it will be a huge dent in their dreams of being close to winning the flag
Redan v Ballarat - Ballarat have been competitive all year so far, how long will that last. Redan are Redan and will just keep winning games. Is Orren Stephenson going to be back there this year?
Sebas v Darley - Sebas beat Darley last year in a surprise. Don't think it will happen this year. Darley should be 4-0.

Round 5 tips:
Sunbury by 7
Lakers by 50
South by 20
Redan by 18
Darley by 80+
Thoughts?

Where is Patty D and the other South believers?
I want to hear their thoughts pregame on tomorrow's big clash. Are you a chance boys? Hopefully they win or get close or else there isn't enough towels in the world to wipe the egg off many South faces.

Another interesting one tomorrow is Lakers v Sunbury. Sunbury have been competitive with the best in the East so far this year. Lakers look like the best in Ballarat at the moment.

Holy hell what happened there? Woulda been difficult this morning for my old mate Peddo having been Fev's predecessor but I was very happy I must say when I was checking scores :thumbsu:
