Dunno if this was said earlier but Schofield on the podcast was not happy with Garry Lyon and his comments on him over the weekend. Also has a bunch of mainly vic media 'journos' that he hasn't been very impressed with - didn't name any names though

Fair call too, I think Lyon was talking about him as a veteran and saying he was past it or something similar? And every time De Goey did something would have a go at Schofield and call for a change, even though Im not sure who he expected to stop him.

Hm, I wonder why Garry Lyon doesn’t like Will Schofield?

What possible grudge could Garry Lyon have against Schofield specifically....hm....

Will Schofield. Garry Lyon. Hm...

Nope, beats me.

I don't get why he would be upset at Schofield just because Oliver took a dive, but I've never claimed to be on the same wavelength as the mind of the great Garry Lyon and can only hope it stays that way.
(No disrespect to your theory though, HB35. I always appreciate reminders from people with way better memories than me - i.e. everyone)

Seems a stretch.

Of all the dog acts over the years, that one takes the absolute cake for me. Just somehow feels that much worse than anything else. Just the lowest

Add to that his call on Damien Martin. So poor

lyon is a low life without a moral compass, he is the media link to the sewer - also knows bugger all about footy - look howe he destroyed meltank

move on and angora the sunshine

Lycett mentioned a reporter he has a prob with and had to do an interview with him and said it was very awkward.

Wonder who!

The only interview I could find him doing earlier In the year was by Lachie Read. Do t know if that was the interview he was talking about.

Up the coasters!

At the end of the game he said that all of our defenders had had good games "except Schofield".

He also went on earlier in the game about how Schofield wasn't a good match up for pretty much any of Collingwood's forwards, then praised Buckley's ability to "force the mismatch in the forward line".

Why is every single podcast so long.
1hr and 15 minutes is too ****ing long.
At least butts and Schoey are way more entertaining that Ochre and Keys :p

Malcolm Blight re: zones

"players and coaches should stay out of this discussion"

struth malcolm, why would we need any stakeholder engagement on what could potentially be the largest reactionary rule change ever in a 150+ year old sport :drunk:
To be fair Phil Davis said the same thing.

we dont need zones because we already introduced interchange caps and quick ball-ups to slow the game down and clear congestion. remember how that worked? don't you guys see how much slower and less congested it is now?

but nah lets not consult the coaches and draft a rule without first checking if there's a workaround that will be exploited immediately

I just don’t get how we went from trialing rules in the preseason competition to see how it works before implementing it to saying “this is happening next season, deal with it”.
