Cracking game.

Lol everyone cheering the death of bazball and enforcing follow on because the guy averaging 100 seeing it like a watermelon was run out for a duck and they lost by a run.

I think Australia end up getting carted unless they can find a genuine swing bowler in English conditions.

Great game though.

We might actually not have been humiliated if we played Bazball during the first two Tests - because they sure as f*** were never going to the last day, so may as well see how many you can put on the board especially if you won the toss both times.

A diamond duck no less! Didn't even face a ball!

Was it is own fault or did Root make the call?

Liking T20's and ODI's doesn't stop you enjoying test cricket.

True - but if a meaningless T20 or ODI series means less Test cricket, then it does indeed stop us enjoying Test cricket. How many people now are wishing we got a Third Test between NZ and England?

Fine, play the World Cups and Champions Trophies and BBLs and IPLs, but unfortunately there is a reason why Kane Williamson as an example has never played in an international Test series of more than 3 Tests in his entire career.

The problem is, you've got to pay the bills and I don't think test cricket does that.

Does it though ?

Can't speak for other countries off hand, but Australia still gets its 5-6 test summer.

Wait, this was a two Test series? Oh FFS!

Edit: On the plus side, I think that means NZ retains whatever trophy these two sides play for?

There's no reason Australia and NZ couldn't play out a 6 Test series split between the two countries. It'd be epic (ipuc).
We’ve done that with South Africa before but it’s still regarded as two separate series
