The main solution is pretty easy. Take the squad over at least 3 weeks before the first Test, have 2 first-class games (I don't care if they produce green seaming wickets) and perhaps have a training camp as well where you analyse the likely opposition and develop some solid plans (plan A, plan B, plan C...) at both a team level and an individual level.Yep. Apart from "play more red ball cricket before the tour" he hasn't offered much insight into what they should have done. The failings are obvious, the solutions would be more interesting.
Or just let the players play Big Bash and hope for the best.
