Am getting seriously excited, Rage in about 29 hours, Arcade Fire in 24, beer and BBQ in about 18.
Favourite day of the year, woo.

Yep – BDO rocks on.

Looking forward to seeing The Hilltop Hoods, Grinspoon and Silverchair with Bjork, Sarah Blasko and Regurgitator going to be good as well.

Normally I try and stay out of the Boiler Room and I see why this year will be no different.

i went to the GC BDO this year was unbelieveable.
i dont much like silverchairs new stuff so they were a disappointment for me, but grinspoon, regurg, rage, arcade fire among lots of others were great:thumbsu:

I really wanted to go but mum wouldnt buy tickets she said next year.. DAMB :)
I would of paid it for myself but u have to be 14 and 6 months to get a job and im only 14 and 2 months...

Really into music at the moment.. wish i could go..

Seems like everyones taken the bloody day off work tomorrow to go  I'll be the only one in the friggin office!

How's this for dodgy though .. a mate of mine ordered a ticket online for himself and his sister @ $150 each on a site called gumleaf.com or some shit .. my mate got his bank details and transferred $300 into his account and this bloke said he'd send the tickets to him via mail ... 2 weeks later still no sign of the tickets and he's not answering his phone.

A few points on this .. WTF is gumleaf.com? Secondly who would be stupid enough to transfer that much money to some guy you don't even know .. and thirdly what can be done about this? My mates sister has called the police and they have his bank details ..

Only going to be heading in for a few hours tomorrow, as have a going away to get to at night. Only going for Arcade Fire (5th time in 8 months :)) so will turn up about 1 or so for Gyroscope, and see a few others before heading into the pit for AF. Tossing up whether to hang around for karnvool or not, guess it will depend how I feel.

Won't compare to falls (where i wore my 97 Crows jumper with pride), but i'll be there for sure

Can't wait for Arcade Fire! Probably the first year i havewn't really planned who i'm seeing because the lineup is a little thin for my taste (Boo to Arcade Fire-Spoon clash!)

Listening to AF as we speak actually, might throw on a little Regurgitator afterwards

Rage Against The Machine was the best experience of my life at Melbourne BDO and their side show. That is no exaggeration. Not that it affected me but hopefully for you guys the Adelaide BDO is set out better than the Melbourne one if you want to see Rage on the main stage. I got in early and was had about 10 people in front of me to the stage, but the crowd went ridiculously far back and it was all flat so basically impossible to see for those at the back.

I now regret not getting tickets to the Adelaide BDO to see Rage again.

What, where, when, who?:eek::confused:

Never heard of those festivals. Can you explain?

Soundwave Lineup

Its the 2nd Soundwave (first in Adelaide I think). March 1. Bonython Park. Pretty heavy lineup:
Offspring, Incubus, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Shadows Fall, Bleeding Through, Still Remains, Boys Like Girls etc etc

Future Music was born out of Two Tribes which was a massive institution in Melbourne for many years (30-40k crowds at Melbourne Park). Its all electronic music so if youre not keen on the boiler room you wouldnt be keen for this. Monday March 10

Awesome lineup again:
Chemical Brothers, John Digweed (finally coming to adelaide!), Aesop Rock, Eddie Halliwell, Robbie Rivera, Roger Sanchez, Sven Vath and heaps others

To be honest I walked away a little dissapointed after Arcade Fire tonight. Probably due to the extremely lofty standards they had set in previous shows, didnt seem as animated (also didnt play Ocean of Noise :(). Was standing in the front row which was awesome though, which was good to replace all the photos I lost in Parisiangate (don't ask :( )

Here are just a few;

That's a pretty sweet lineup right there :thumbsu:

Highlights for me were easily Battles & Rage Against The Machine. Had never heard Battles until yesterday and they were almost as good as Rage for me.

Also good were:

British India
Shy Child
UNKLE
Krafty Kuts

Saw half of Arcade Fire and half of Spoon (bad clash!) - Both were good but would have prefered to see all of each set. Missed AF playing 'intervention' when I was watching Spoon

Dizzee Rascal was horrible live.

Dizzee Rascal was horrible live.

I thort dizze was good. Ill admit tho as soon as i heard flex i made a rush for the D-section and ended up front row for the hoods.

Gyro is always good. Silverchair slightly dissapointing but rage was amazing. Started at the back and moshed my way thru to the front row. Got a bit tired so i fell back....heard the start of renegades of funk and surfed my way to the front again. Amazing!!!

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the hell the big blue drum looking thing with the cubes and stuff the guys was using during bjork??? Bad description bad it blew my mind.

You didn't find his whole set a little 'karaoke'? It was just him rapping to a backing tape. I realise that its quite common in hip hop but I find it a little lame, especially at a live music event like BDO. Atleast get a live DJ who can change things up a little bit for the live shows. And the other guy with him yelling the last few words of each line was pretty shite.

Oh, and I managed to catch a bit of Vents on the local stage just before RATM. Small crowd, I think one of the guys from Funkoars was up there too and they were rockin. Only reason I left is cos their set over-lapped with RATM

I was at Auckland and Melbourne big day out this year

Rage Against the Machine

As far as i am concerned, there were no other bands at the big day out

mosh insane mosh ever

It's a reacTable, basically a synthesizer with a graphical interface. Pretty cool piece of engineering, only a few in the world at the moment, have a bit of a read about it as I think this could be a reasonably huge invention in the future of musical instruments.

Enter Shikari were really sick, great energy and the crowd loved em. My surprise of the day. Rage of course blew my face off but Arcade Fire were my highlight for the day.
Shattered I missed the Vool and UNKLE, didn't want to leave the D and not get back in for Rage. Even then there was a clash between those two so would have missed one anyway, shite.

Does anyone know Bjorks setlist? Hate her singing but there were 2 songs that I quite liked the instrumentals from, one was the second to last track where it just built to a giant wall of noise and the bass exploded me (was quite close to the speakers)

Gyroscope were a disappointment because their sound was way off, super muddy and could hardly hear which song they were doing.

Silverchair surprised me, haven't liked them since Freakshow but their set was at least enjoyable.
