Big Marks

Jimmy and Monica have taken a few big marks over the past couple of weeks, and not only are they great to watch and get the crowd pumped but I think they also show how much confidence Geelong players now have in themselves and in their teammates.

Before this year, it's been pretty rare for a Geelong player to have the confidence to attempt to take a hanger. It's good to see.

Just an observation.

Monica has been trying for mark of the year for the last 4 years.What he did on sunday wasn't knew.

Jimmy has taken the occasional big mark.I still remember the big mark he took in the last qtr of the 2002 VFL GF.

Did anyone notice who the player was that was in front of Bartel when he took the mark on sunday ? [not Rooke,who he leapt over].

Points taken. I wasn't specifically talking about the confidence of those two players, just the team in general.

It was Corey McKernan.

McKernan and Mooney were running back to the contest, but Gumby fell over before the mark was taken.

After watching the replay, I thought it was great that Jimmy had a smile on his face after he took the mark, a sign of his growing confidence.
