Big Play at Chris Dawes!

You blokes that whinge about players being out on the piss will not want Dawes around them. See him out alllllllllllllll the time.

Dont rate him that highly (as a player), also reckon it'd be pretty difficult to pinch players from Collingwood at the moment..

We don't need another key forward. We have Cook, Fitz, AND Tom McDonald.

Tommy Mac is a big big boy considering he's the youngest player on our list. Takes a great contested marks!

I say throw the sink at getting our boy Gaff back. He absoulutly loves the club.

Not going to happen. Is West Coast's best young mid, and that's saying something. Has probably converted.

Prestia was a mad Dees fan wasn't he? Could be worth a look in a year or two??? I'm pretty sure we interviewed him at draft camp. Obviously wouldn't solve out issue down forward, but could be a potential target down the track when we are playing finals.

For what It's worth, I feel if either Cook or Fitz comes along, we should be ok for tall forwards. Like someone else said, Tom Mac is a big kid as well and has really strong hands. Seeing our talls in defence are covered atm, could definitely see him being a tall target in the F50. Lots of what if's, but we do have some potential for KPF.

I think boosting our midfield depth with some bigger bodies should be a priority come trade time. If we can snag a Dawes or someone similar, then great, but if no one decent is available, we have to go for some big bodies midfielders to help Moloney out at the stoppages.

Gorringe is from SA, but yes he is an unbelievable talent.

He was considered one of the best junior tap ruckman to come through in years IIRC so I think he would definitely be considered a ruck first, then a forward.

He has insane mobility.

Taylor Walker is the last player the MFC needs, another medium forward.

Id take Howe, Petterd and Jurrah ahead oif him any day.

He isn't a medium forward at all. He is 194cm and around 95kg. Plays very similar to Fevola and isn't far off Fev talent-wise.

I really wonder if some of you watch footy outside of our games or you just all go on stereotypes.

'Pack crashing' is overrated, Watts can take a mark in a pack anyway, or do some of you still think he is just a HFF?

Disagree with the first part, Walker may be 194 but he plays like a mediumn forward. Doesnt have much presence at all.

Agree with Watts though, its obvious hes going to be a dominant marking forward. Hell hes already started crashing packs and he just turned 20.

I dont see why people have a fascination with us chasing a big forward, especially a dud like Dawes.

It's a waste of time. There's no way Dawes will leave Collingwood to come to Melbourne. He would have to be out of his mind to leave the system they have there, and the administration would be out of their minds to let him go.

I don't see the value in chasing Taylor Walker either, he seems to be a similar type of player (albeit a little bigger) to those already in the Melb forward line. What difference would he make?

How about just we blood one of the young KPPs like Cook and put the money towards locking away some more promising kids? I don't know if Cook's ready yet or not, perhaps a more committed Casey follower can let us know...

Yeah that would be more likely than snaring Gaff.

Cook is a good player, but we were robbed of Gorringe and Lynch in the draft last year. Eugh. Those two will be stars (and Charlie Dixon, Day). Should try to poach one.

Although Cook could be better, you never know.

I wouldn't mind us chasing Shaun McKernan from the Crows. Looks to be a really solid KPF/ruckman with sticky hands who could grow into an absolute beast.

Assuming the Crows wouldn't let him go easily though

i noticed him in the nab cup this year when we played them certainly has a good pair of hands on him and is a solid unit, probably behind walker and tippet in the pecking order plus maric and jacobs as the ruckman... interesting to see how we manipulate the market this year

Chris Dawes would be great because he's a mongrel. Collingwood will not let him go though so might as well talk about recruiting Cloke or Buddy.

IMO we badly need one or two quick small forwards, shouldn't be too hard to draft a quality one with a first round pick. Also think we need more mids to rotate through, Viney will obviously help.

we should never trade for a small forward or use a 1st rnd pick on one, your always a chance of finding one late in the draft or in the rookie selections ( davey, betts, garlett, milne etc)

our drafting need to focus on ready made big bodied players , enough of the skinny little ****s that take 5years to bulk up!

collingwood might not have a choice if we offer him a deal he simply cant refuse btw

Oo would be lovely to have the two Brighton Grammar targets (Watts and Dawes) inside the 50 causing havoc in the AFL just like they did in the APS!!!

He played last week in the Casey Reserves, not sure whats going on there.

Apparently he was struggling to get involved in recent weeks due to a stacked forwardline of Bate, Dunn, Fev and now Jurrah.

Trying to give him a bit of confidence back as a target.
