Good to see big Sav back in the lineup, we look a TOTALLY different team when he is in the goal square. Even though he didn't have great opposition today, it was still nice to see him kick four... and how good was the speccy in the last quarter! :D :D

If anyone has a pic of that grab please post it here. :)

Dropped a couple that he really shouldn't but since this is round 1 and hie kicked 4 anyway all is forgiven.

As we have always said - he really straightens us up

Actually for most of the match I thought Sav was a bit of a worry. He really doesn't move very well at all now and his marking is going downhill as well. He had a fantastic last quarter in which he kicked 2 goals and looked pretty good however I'm just a little worried as to whether he will be able to maintain that. Laidley said he was happy with him today and said that he want's a goal a quarter from Sav. That gives him over 80 for the year so I guess we will all be happy with that. :) Nice one Dean.

Apart from the last quarter i don't see how Sav had much influence on the game. They run away from him pretty easy and this was only Carlton. This will be his last year so I hope he can stay fit and at least provide an option. Once again though great last quarter from Sav. Fantastic. Lets hope he can jump in every now and then with patches like that.

Form is his own negative. Can go missing when much needed = explains why he can't get 60 a year. Feeding him the ball on a platter is the underlining mission of his team mates otherwise we'll look quite ordinary. bf's Mighty Mick is hoping for 100 goals from him but like everything...those little things have to occur first. Can happen though.

I thought Sav was very good today. Sure he was quiet early on, but he got the goals when needed. And they were pressure goals too. I reckon that back in his Collingwood days, or in his first season with us, he would have missed those shots.
He is a great kick our Sav. From outside 50 i would say he is the best kick in the competition. Perfect execution everytime. I actually prefer him taking shots from 50 then from 30.

I agree and his brother likewise. Bf's Mighty Mick was beaming ear to ear with Sav's last quarter.

idiot Carlton fans behind us bagged Sav all day. He soon shut them up.
Sav dropped a mark and some genius yells "bet if it was a doughnut you would have caught it" (which was kinda funny)
Later on, Sav's lining up and the same idiot's yelling "have another doughnut Sav!"
so i yelled out "i think he's switched to sausage rolls mate"
Sure enough the big fella slotted it for me.
Thanks Sav
