Yep I got down there for about 40mins.

I missed their warmup and stretches so couldn't really determine which players were absent so will assume everyone was there except Dick, MM .... and I didn't notice Beams, Ball, N Brown, L Brown, Ryan Cook or Presti.... but I was restricted with a view as I was nearish the point post Swan st end so they might have been.

Players were divided into 3 team tops of blue, red and yellow with most wearing hats so for most part if a player was far away I had to rely on kicking syle or movement.

I arrived as they were doing circle work and the big Yank Shae was the 1st one I spotted. To be honest his kicking surprised me and he has some distance. Still looked a bit unco and has a long way to go but certainly not as spaz he looked on the youtube clip when he was in the states. Very big boy obviously and fantastic leap with perfect timing with his over head marks. Very competive and hard on himself when he dropped a chest mark ... which is kind of good and kind of bad as he kicked the ball away like a little sook. Hopefully he gets drilled to just fooking get on with it and most importantly, keep your head high son.... you're still learn the game.

The next I noticed was Wood. He has put a nice bit of muscle up stairs.

Some of the drills you can read here ... I'll add to what I saw. http://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/newsfeatures/news/newsarticle/tabid/5586/newsid/88701/default.aspx

Down in goals near me Bucks and Licca worked with Rusling, Dawes and Jack. With a break from past the wing from the likes of Daisy, Benny J or Tarks the ball was delivered to a leading forward. Bucks and Licca took on 2 of the forwards while 1 sat out and rotated with the next delivery. Bucks would at times stop and tell them where they should be running. I tell ya I'm loving the fact that Bucks and Licca are out there on the field and playing like a player .... just so much experience they can past off and of course still have a lot of strength.

The major drill I saw though was a bit of a competition. 1 colour (eg red) would be attacking from half back and 1 colour (eg blue) would defend. Bucks would kick the ball to the attacking team and they had to keep possession without dropping the ball and score a goal. If the ball was turned over, dropped or didn't hit the mark, the ball was returned to start the drill again. Whilst this was happening the 3rd team (eg Yellow) was down the other end doing drills amongst themselves (divided into 2 teams while 1 side tops off). This was hard running with tackles included but no real dangerous stuff of course .... just healthy competitive stuff. Each team would rotate through either defending, attacking or working up the other end. Heater was loving it and loves to shit stir. At one point Goldy had a small past back inwards to Heater about 25 out and the pass was a little too up with Corrie looking to spoil. Heater took it one handed, runs past Corrie and stabs it through. Heater yowls like a gibbon and as he runs past Corrie again pats him on the back with an extra hoot in his ear. It was pretty funny and those that saw it laughed. :D

Other notes ... Trav and Fraser didn't do full training. I would expect them not to be being NAB at all and probably no need as everyone looked to be flying.

Corrie ... well hmmm? .... hate to single him out but I would have thought if he was on 1 yr left on his contract he might bulk up or be more vocal or ... geez I dunno? ... something else but he seemed to be going through the paces. If he gets game time in the NAB cup he better be kicking goals.

Medders looked to be running fine although at one point Bucks out marked him. I couldn't help but yell out a pleasing "Geez!" and it wasn't as though Medder was poor it was more that Bucks was still good. A bloke next to me goes " ... looks as though he can still play doesn't it?" :D

Any questions just post them.

GO PIES!!
