69. Nice.
I'm in my 40s now, but I'll still chuckle at that every time. I was watching an episode of Scrublands last night (REALLY great Australian crime drama miniseries on Stan) and heard a joke I hadn't heard before, but it was probably a really old saying. One of the side characters is calling Bingo at a small town pub and 69 is drawn: "69, Dinner for two, 69" and it made me laugh out loud for a good couple of moments.

I'm just the same as you. I remember when the mini-golf TV show 'Holey Moley' was on TV a couple of years ago, despite being middle-aged I couldn't stop laughing every time at one of the holes that was called 'Uranus' and all the corny jokes that the commentators made about it.

Another one like this is English TV presenter and actor Bradley Walsh, the host of The Chase UK, whose collapses into fits of laughter on this show are legendary. The people behind the scenes who compile the quiz often put double entendre questions in the multiple choice round to get this reaction such as:

  • To date, which is the only man-made probe to ever visit Uranus? A. Pioneer 10, B. Voyager 1, C. Voyager 2
  • In Enid Blyton's 'Famous Five' series of books, who was not part of Georgina's family? A. Cousin Jane B. Cousin Dick C. Aunt Fanny
  • Which of the following Australian sportspersons was not an international cricketer? A. Dennis Lillie B. Dick Condon C. Don Bradman

And Now he is presenting the 2024 version of Gladiators of which he was a celebrity contender in the 1992-1999 run.

Speaking of Gladiators, I believe our one starts on this Sunday on 10.

They don't hold a candle to the Originals. Funnily enough, Mark McGaw who was Hammer in the 90s, is the Ref in this remake.

Vulcan or GTFO

Vulcan or GTFO

I really hoped we'd get another local wrestler for old time's sake. There's no one around that really comes to mind that has Vulcan's size and athleticism though.

Or aggression and entertainment. Vulcan had everything.

Gladiators should've been what confirmed my pansexuality. Can't believe it took 20 years after that.

I mean, Delta was my original crush... but then came Tornado, and I'd never been so confused by anything in my life.

I'm interested to see how they protect against head knocks in the new series, you can't have people teeing off on each other like they used to in Duel 25 years ago.
