Appeared in many UK TV shows over the years most notably Eastenders, as well as some movies such as SOS Titanic in 1979.

Caunter died on 13th October just a week after his wife - to whom he had been married since 1962 - had also died.

One of a number of coincidental deaths this year, Samantha Eggar has died just a matter of weeks after her 'The Collector' co-star Terrance Stamp, break-out roles for both young actors in 1965 (Stamp played Fred Clegg and Eggar Miranda.) A couple of weeks ago two of Britain's oldest actors Dame Patricia Routledge and John Woodvine (both born 1929) died just a day apart, while Norman Eshley died soon after 'George & Mildred' co-star Brian Murphy, despite a 15 year age gap.

Samantha Eggar was also on my list for 2025, my 5th correct guess of the year.
