Joining East Perth a year after their 1958 Grand Final victory, he was not a part of their 1959 premiership team which won against Subiaco, and then played in seven losing Grand Finals for the Royals - 1960 {West Perth), 1961 (Swans), 1966, 1967 & 1968 (Perth) and in 1969 & 1971 (West Perth both times).

The following year East Perth broke their GF hoodoo by winning the 1972 GF over Claremont, but Chadwick was unable to play in the team due to injury and retired at the end of the season.
