Stopped watching at half time (justin tv froze on me). *puts box-score hero hat on* yeah it looks like he's fallen off a bit.

Well he has actually improved. First half had 4 pts + assists in a half. In the 3rd qtr he had 3.

I'll watch a replay though so I can see what got you so excited about his play. Hopefully he has a minute that is actually exciting.

Is it too early to call Adam Morrison the worst top 3 pick of all time? I say no.

He's 6"8, shooting 37% for his career, and simply doesn't contribute anything except for his highly inefficient scoring.

Marcus Fizer was 4.

Kwame can at least play decent man D.

Is Jay Williams included in this discussion?

Darko can block shots.

Fizer failed more because of attitude than anything, he was talented - as was Jay Williams.

Darko and Kwame are bigs, there's always a pretty high bust-rate.

I can't remember a top 3 wing failing this spectacularly ever.

Derrick Coleman was pretty shit too.

Only a bust because of what he could have been with his talent.

A career 17/9 guy with a couple of 20/10 seasons is hardly a candidate for a worst ever pick discussion, although I will readily agree he could have been so much more.

Gotta say that I'm loving Durant's game more and more ...
Caught a few highlights of today's game against Portland, and I read a recent blog by Bill Simmonds where he predicts Durant could be the best player in the NBA within 3 years, and you know what he may well prove to be right on the money.

BTW Congrats to the Lakers yesterday for their fine win in boston, I was too irritated and annoyed with Setanta-Gate yesterday, and I might have overreacted a bit, so I had to show some restrain, but props to the LA Show, they have certainly proven they are a better and tougher outfit then last year ...

**** that c_p, the one time you should be running your mouth and you aren't?! We was ROBBED!

Anyway, any chance you could link me to that Simmons blog?

Here is the link to Simmons blog on Durant btw ..

But Kevin Durant—now, he's a different story. For someone to be truly underrated, we have to feel as if we've already thought him through, digesting him before arriving at a conclusion and moving on. We spent the first half of 2007 arguing the who-should-go-No. 1 merits of Durant and Greg Oden, picking them apart, choosing sides. Durant won the argument by default after Oden missed his rookie season with a knee injury, then struggled enough this season to get us all wondering if he's better than even Bynum (a guy I just called overrated).

Meanwhile, Durant won ROY playing for a disintegrating franchise and currently toils in obscurity in a new town for a team that is the dregs of the league. Yes, GM Sam Presti imploded the team like the Kingdome so he could start over with lottery picks and cap space, building a foundation for 2011. And yes, it's a smart move. But something weird happened in the process: We all stopped thinking about Durant. He's a nonentity. Ask the average fan to tell you who will be the best player in the NBA in three years, and the first five answers will be LeBron, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, D-Wade and either Rose or Carmelo. (Except in LA, where Lakers fans would go with the first three, then Bynum and Trevor Ariza.) I don't see Durant getting many votes.

Um … does anyone realize he just turned 20 on Sept. 29, making him younger than Mayo? That he's breaking every scoring benchmark by age? That he's been averaging 26 points, eight rebounds, 48% shooting, 85% from the line and 43% on threes since Thanksgiving? Go online and check out his ESPN.com game log. Do it now. I'll wait.

(Twiddling my thumbs.)

Got it? Now look at those point totals: 28, 25, 26, 26, 28, 26, 25 … You know in Jaws when Richard Dreyfuss calls the shark an "eating machine"? Durant is a scoring machine. He was put on this earth to collect points. We have never seen anyone quite like him before: a 6'9" forward with Plastic Man arms, 30-foot range and the ability to thrive in big moments. He has more career buzzer-beaters than LeBron. Trust me, it's true.

Know also that NBA players peak between ages 25 and 29. So what's Durant's realistic peak? Will he average 33 a game on percentages of 55-90-50? Will he average 36 ppg? Thirty-eight? Seriously, where does this go? Nobody's discussing that. Nobody's even acknowledging it. And that makes Kevin Durant totally, completely, unequivocally underrated. I can't think of five current players who are more fun to watch. I'm jealous of the Highjacker's fans. I am.

It is staggering to considering that Durant is younger then Mayo, and what he is doing already, even on a very young and struggling team.

I hate this cliche, but honestly Durant is the very definition of 'Franchise' Player ..

He's got the tools to be one of the greatest scorers the sport has seen, but best player? A guy called LeBron is going to be around for a while yet.

That article was written nearly a week before it was published too, so it was before he dropped 46/15 on the Clippers. It was before Bynum's big week too, hence the overrated line.

Ah yes, I did read that one. You can add 3 30+ games in a row to that list of impressive scores.

TD is right, the defensive side of LeBron should see him above KD for some time yet, but who knows?

just watched the suns game i IQed earlier.

Looking at the stats ESPN was showing through out the game, I was struggling to work out how Golden State was still in it, must have been there mid-range shooting me thinks.

also G-Rant Hill, what a game! turned back the clock for sure. 27/5 on 12-17 shooting. Amare with 19/15. All starters in double figures.

Also Stephen Jackson, he is a class player.

I don't normally take Simmons too seriously, but occasionally he stumbles onto something that's on the money. It's rare, but it happens.

That article, however, was one huge, steaming pile of horseshit.

And fwiw, as good as Durant is, I wouldn't be mildly surprised if Westbrook is their best player in 3 years' time. You want to talk underrated - that's the guy.

Anthony Carter, please retire from basketball u useless ****.

FFS u're the most untalented player and the worst basketball IQ player to dom a Nuggets jersey.
