Can't say i fully agree with just give him until November. Fwiw i want us to be proper Ange in and back him with the best signings for the system. And if he failed with that backing then he goes.

But if the powers that be are on the fence and think like this they should just do it now. Reason I think this is they'll not back him in the summer and he'll be on a hiding to nothing. They won't go and get 5 signings that are the Plan A or B. It'll be the cheap usual Plan E option because it'll be too costly backing a manager they're unsure on in the first place
I don't think that is a likely outcome.

As you say, there is no reason to keep Ange on but not back him. So he's either gone, or they will continue to back him as they have been doing. Nobody gets all of their number 1 targets every window remember.

Huge window coming up. 4-5 key ins would be good, whilst we do need to move on a heap. We can afford to move on a heap yet still have a big squad!

History of enic shows we'll go with Dibling instead if Mbuemo for example. Will still cost us and look like backing. But it's not really the same is it.

Hope its Mbuemo style signings that raise our bar.

If they're unsure on Ange they've got to move him on and not just half arse it because he delivered something we all loved. Paratici returning is key. If he's unsure of ange he has to make the call, find his new man and get all his top signings nailed

I like Dom Solanke

But replacing Kane with Solanke and whatever we already had was never going to be enough for us in the league plus cups

It's why we will likely be in for Delap, David etc.

Anyone that is better than Solanke wasn't then and isn't now going to come here.
The top echelon of footballers choose Liverpool, PSG, Bayern, Barca, Real, City. That isn't on us. That's just decades of football heritage.

Its not Solanke as an individual. More that we were left short as a squad since Kane was that good we were losing goals 1 man couldn't replace, creativity 1 man couldn't replace

Last season with Kane and the two since his departure.

Top 4 average:

Goals for - 77, 87.25, 72.75.
Goals ag - 38, 41.25, 40.5.

Spurs for - 70 , 74, 64.
Spurs ag - 63 , 61, 65.

Now, I'm no genius but I'd argue with and without Kane we're far further off the standard required defensively that we are for goals scored. Less than 10 goals behind the pace setters attacking but 20-25 short defensively.

How we've replaced Kane most certainly is not the issue.

The beauty of Ange winning us this trophy is it means surely we are only moving him on for an elite manager. Not those on similar or lesser levels like Silva or Thomas Frank. Would have to be someone like Xavi. Farioli after his choke couldn't be looked at seriously.

Same goes with the player targets. It now puts the onus on the club to go with the Plan A list since these players are in our market again. Now some of the Plan B list might get to the level but others won't.

Plan A: Hincapie, Ait-Nouri, Wharton, Eze/Cherki, Sane/Mbuemo, David/Delap
Plan B: Esteve, Walker-Peters, Cardoso, McAtee, Dibling, Brobbey

Both scenarios see 6 players signed. Plan B would still look like financial backing spending 200m. But Plan A would probably cost an extra 150m and is proper backing. And the real difference comes in wages. Plan B's likely to save us 300-350k per week in wages. Wages in which we can most definitely afford since we pay record low wages

You're aware we're hamstrung by having a European record 250m worth of transfer payments outstanding?
UCL football has saved our bacon with the extra revenue but we still owe a lot of clubs a lot of money.
can you elaborate on this?

I thought our financial fair play barrier was quite high

Kieran Maguire who is a football finance expert went on the overlap and said it in front of Scholes, Neville etc.

That's the basic version.

and the Danso move reportedly now confirmed as permanent
Great business for 25m. Especially if Romero leaves, either way, happy to keep Danso.

Reports ramping up that Ange will be done in coming days, shame if true but broken the shackles. Hope the next bloke in charge can take control of this young group and build something special now because the bones are there
If it's not xavi they'll be sacked by 2027

They were started by a few "sources" that get things wrong 9/10.

But yes let's get mid tier Frank to come in. That will be lovely to watch us defend our ways to top 6 and out before knockout of Champions league.

Where is the Leeds United team thread at?

I like Frank

But he's not the right manager for this fork in the road we are at, where we could take a massive step forward and be a top club, or we go back to Spursy ways
