Was on the bench last night.

Sherwood is a 'Arry clone. Seriously has no clue how to use a squad. Chadli scores probably our best goal of the season against Newcastle and hasn't been seen since. Soldado gets the monkey off the back and doesn't see any time against Chelsea and doesn't start last night

If Kane is the future, at some stage you have to start him, Im not to disapointed that Soldado didnt start. Lennon starting is unforgiveable

Harry Kane needed a loan move to a West Brom sort of side rather than continue to dominate the U21's this season. At this stage he is still an unknown quantity

Expect Levy to make the wrong call in the summer and go for one of the top 3:

Sherwood win % = 50%
Pochettino = 33.96% & no major honours
Laudrup = 44.41% (excluding Brondby 35.67%), 1 Carling Cup

de Boer = 60.74% & 3 league titles in 3 seasons
Van Gaal = 61.41% (excluding Ajax 57.57%), 7 league titles, 1 Champions League, 3 Domestic trophies

He is out of his depth trying to get us into football's elite. To trigger happy and often doesn't make correct choices. I have no faith in him picking the right manager or getting this new stadium started.

Jol should have been given til mid January when he was sacked
Redknapp got two 4th placed finishes in 3 seasons and was sacked because of a personality clash.
AVB got our biggest points haul with a side built around Bale. Bale replaced by 6 new attacking/midfielders and was sacked with us still only 5 points off 4th. Another personality clash with Levy (and Baldini this time)

The AVB sacking decision is appearing more and more like the wrong decision, certainly when there was no appropriate replacement lined up.
Again, no difference. Players clearly didn't give a shit under AVB, so there was nothing to lose by sacking him.

I'd love to know just how close we got to Benteke and what exactly caused it to fall through. We still lack attacking talent in the middle so he wouldnt have been the difference between CL and not CL, but maybe we would have spent the Soldado money elsewhere.
What I'd love to know is how well we would have done this season if we a manager who was capable of getting the best out of Soldado.

He didn't suddenly become a bad player when he moved to Spurs; the coach just wasn't mature or flexible enough to adopt a game style he would thrive under, and as a result, he's found it really difficult to score goals.

At Valencia he often played alongisde Jonas as a #10 and two wingers either side of him. Hard to say if AVB was using the wrong system as that's what he played with but instead of assisting wingers he used shoot on sight Townsend and was too reluctant to use Lamela and played an out of position Siggy out there.

Soldado
Lamela/Townsend - Erikesen/Siggy - Lennon/Chadli

Siggy & Eriksen playing the Van der Vaart role as a second striker. That could eventually have worked but it takes time to get things to flow well but Levy didn't have the patience.

My god Sherwood's an embarrassing excuse for a coach, I can't believe this idiot is preparing to be in charge for next season. I'm a firm Levy backer but my god he better dispose of Sherwood at the end of the season.

Adebayor; has no support whatsoever. The whole point of playing the lone striker is so that he can hold the ball up & bring the midfielders into the game, but it's pretty hard when none of the midfielders are getting into good, advanced positions.

and when things go wrong, Interim Tim has a fit, cries at his players, both on the sidelines & in the press conferences, doesn't compose himself at all and fails to realize his tactics are a joke. He actually is an idiot.

First, he brings Sigurdsson on, the worst player to play for Tottenham in over a decade. Then, he brings Soldado on with 10 minutes left, when Arsenal have parked the bus which is the worst condition to bring a player like him on. Then, he throws another fit during the match which may be an attempt to inspire the players, which predictably failed. Watch him whinge in the presser about how the team lacks character, and that it's not his fault at all, and that he's getting ready to manage well beyond his current contract.

We officially have the worst manager in the Premier League, and by some distance. I'd take Steve Kean over Sherwood at this point, he's just that bad; an absolute embarrassment.

As if we haven't been embarrassed enough already, Sherwood goes out and says this:

"Some of these players are internationals and world-class but they may not be my cup of tea. Everyone’s got different methods"

I'm actually scared of the damage he could do in this short space of time, and he's still saying he's preparing for next season and that he needs time. How could we appoint such a bombastic idiot?

Can nobody else see the glaring parallels between Sherwood & Neeld?

I really hope we annouce Van Gaal before the season is over because as GrandBlue says I am fearful of the long term damage Sherwood could do now. We dont agree on much at all but he is 100% right! Alienating this squad is a stupid idea as it is actually a top 4 squad. It's a squad that needs time and needs to played in their actual positions!

Chadli RW/LW over CF/AM.
Eriksen, Siggurddson CM/AM over LW
Soldado needs a #10 playing close to him and wingers that cross and not come inside every time.
Naughton is only a RB

Van Gaal or De Boer have a lot to work with if they come in. Someone of that calibre I believe will hold on to JV and possibly Lloris too. So the changes I'd be looking at for next season would be as follows.

Ins:
De Boer / Van Gaal
RB: Ricardo van Rhijn or Callum Chambers
CB: Alderwield, Schar or Veltmen (definitely need 1 in, 2 if JV leaves)
LB: Ricardo Rodriguez or Luke Shaw (biggest must buy is one of these two)
Midfield: Moussa Sissokko & Tom Carroll, Iago Falque to return
Strikers: Dzeko or Remy & Batshuayi (young Belgian striker)

Outs:
Naughton (not PL standard)
Kaboul (if we get offered decent money unfortunately his body isnt up to it)
Bentaleb (season long PL loan)
Livermore (not top 4 standard)
Kane (season long PL loan)
Fryers (season long PL or championship loan)
Gomes
Holtby

Somewhat realistic 25 man squad
GK: Lloris, Archer, Friedel
RB: Walker, Chambers
LB: Rodriguez, Rose
CB: Vertonghen, Chiriches, Dawson, Schar, Veltman
DM: Sandro, Capoue
CM: Sissokko, Dembele, Paulinho, Carroll
AM: Eriksen, Siggurddson, Falque
LW/RW: Lamela, Lennon, Townsend, Chadli
ST: Adebayor, Soldado, Remy, Batshuayi

Archer, Chambers, Batshuayi & Veltman would be young enough to not have to be included in the 25. Question mark on whether Falque will make it but from all reports is doing good things at Rayo Vallecano (sp?)

I know thats another 7 signings which isn't ideal but we could probably do without 1 of the CB signings and also the young fella Batshuayi. And Chambers would be competition for a starting place and wouldn't be expected to play any more than 20 games for the season anyway.

Our midfield is very slow so I think the introduction of a bull at a gate type like Sissoko who also has skill will compliment the likes of Carroll & Dembele.

Well we needlessly sacked AVB for nothing more than alienating Adebayor, surely Sherwood has to go then. I would also like Levy out or at the very least out of buying players.

I think we are going to struggle to hang onto Lloris, I believe his contract is up for renewal and PSG are sniffing around.

I wouldnt be too quick to sell Hotby as he is one of the few attacking midfield talents we have and I still think he has something to contribute, definitely more than Siggy.

Completely agree with Naughton, Gomes and Livermore out. How will Bentaleb & Kane feel about a season long loan after making regular appearances?

What would we need with Remy? Surely developing Kane is the better option or persisting with Soldado.

How have Falque and Carroll performed on loan?

Facepalm worthy post. His problems extended well beyond not getting along with Adebayor.

I would also like Levy out
Another facepalm worthy post, and I cringe every time I hear this.

Do you seriously think he's doing a bad job on the basis that he hasn't made the best decisions in hiring/sacking managers? You think that's all Levy's job is? Who cares about us being the most financially well-run club in the world, he sacked 3 managers in the last 5 years! That makes him a bad chairman!!!11

Lloris will only stay if he feels we can push on and I can only see a world renowned manager like Van Gaal being able to convince him to stay.

I've never seen the big deal with Holtby. A few nice assists in glorified reserve fixtures in the Capital One Cup and EL group games were good to see but when given the chance when it mattered he didn't do much.

In Siggy's 50 odd games for us I'd struggle count on 1 hand the amount of times he has been played in his position.

Soldado is a damn good footballer and even when not scoring you could see the talent and desire was there. We've still seen very little from Harry Kane as yet. And I'd like a 10 goal season at a WBA or Sunderland before I'd be banking on him to be our #3 striker.

Remy is good enough to play off either of Ade or Soldado as a CF or even operate out wide and is a proven PL goal scorer now.

Falque is doing well apparently. 18 games 2 goals and 2 assists dont read well but he's a former Juve and Barca youth player so there must be something there that people keep seeing in him.

Carroll was on fire early in the season but has been in and out of late after picking up a couple of little injuries. I'm not going to make big predictions for him for next season but I definitely think he is capable of being in the 25 man squad. Another kid who could make a few cameos is young Pritchard at Swindon who got nominated for Football League young player of the year (won't win it he is up against 2 Championship players)

Bad chairman for the following reasons:
1) 8+ years and still not a brick laid on the new stadium
2) Over meddling in transfers (flying around Spain on deadline day trying to sign any striker)
3) No faith in sticking anything out. The young Brittish experiment with Jol, the tried and true method with 'Arry, the continental modern way with AVB.
4) Blind faith in the European footballing model
5) Getting next to no investment out of Joe Lewis when we've been a top 5 club for all bar 2 seasons in the last 7-8. We have had to fund all transfers with players sales over that period
6) Consistently selling our best player late in windows. Carrick. Berbatov. Modric. Bale.

You make it sound like CL qualification is easy
Since 05/06 we've been top 5 6 out of 8 seasons and top 4 in 2 of those 6.

All this with while selling our best player on deadline day 4 out of the 8 seasons. Jol, 'Arry and AVB prematurely sacked. Ramos hired stupidly off 2 good UEFA Cup wins.

No serious investment from the owners in improving the squad that little bit we need each year. We constantly sell a couple for big money and bring in 5 or 6 to fill the void.

Ughh.

1. The development of a £450 million stadium is an extremely long, expensive and risky process. Jesus, look at how long it took Arsenal. Just how quickly are you expecting this to finish?
2. Well excuse him for trying to get the best possible deals for the club. Even if this is a flaw, it's a miniscule one in comparison to all the good he brings, and doesn't even come close to making him a bad chairman, or any worse than all the other spanners that could be running the club, like Mike Ashley.
3. Does he generally make the correct decisions when it comes to hiring/firing coaches? No, but once again, only serves as a small blip in comparison to all the good he brings. I'd rather have a Chairman incompetent when it comes to manager selection than one that's incompetent when it comes to finances.
4. The same model that works for a lot of the big clubs?
5. Well, better argue with sabre_ac on that one, he thinks we spent too much. Also, you're not going to include wage rises? or investment into training facilities or the Northumberland Project? Is money spent solely on transfer fees all that's relevant in your eyes?
6. Yeah, we really should've kept those players, even though they would've been unsettled and their values would've dropped rapidly. Shame on Daniel Levy; selling unsettled players for inflated transfer fees & proceeding to reinvest the money into replacements.

1) The whole plan for the new stadium is fairyland stuff. Playing at the old stadium while the new one is somewhat being built on the other side of it? He wasted 3 years trying to get the Olympic stadium which saw the whole thing stall. A lot of money and credibility down the toilet trying to move us to East London
2) The season starts 2-3 weeks before deadline day. Ideally you'd want your squad ready by then or a few weeks before that. He is holding on to that Van der Vaart signing as his saving grace for how good a negotiator he is on the last day. Name me another good deadline day signing he has made?
3) Is football about bank balances or league positions? Yeah he isn't the worst financially speaking and I'd much rather the club not crippling themselves but we are in a very strong position and do nothing to push on.
4) Does Mourinho look like the type to let the chairmen meddle? Ferguson? Wenger? Did Rodgers not have a say in who Liverpool signed? Pellegrini? It's England not continental Europe. Comparing apples and oranges saying the DoF works at top clubs but not naming an English club its worked at
5) The training centre is a great investment but it's hard to get the rewards from it with a trigger happy chairman. Wage rises are the nature of football the so called wage ceiling at Spurs was always going to slowly rise to match it. As I've said we've finished top 5 six out eight seasons with the only two seasons we didn't being the seasons Jol and Ramos were sacked mid way through. So obviously the talent is in the squad to be top 5 why not improve what we already have and make a statement, rather than sell our star and sign a few to hopefully do the job.
6) Selling them on July 1 for £5m less would be better business than the way he handled all 4 of those sales
