How is Nank not in the best 22? I don't even think it should be debatable, he is class and has AFL footballer written all over him, why do we keep shooting ourselves in the foot to appease a great club man.

Just from the trial games alone it was obvious that Nank should be best 22, if you add in his performance in the best 22 last season it should be bloody concrete.

So you're basically saying we have to wait for Milera to serve up six weeks of shit before injury forces Nicks to do what should have happened six weeks prior and get Nanks in.

Stage 1: Denial - "Nank is only in the B's to give the A's some competition. He'll be in the A's come Round 1."
Stage 2: Anger - "Why the hell is Nank always in the B team? Nicks is an idiot."
Stage 3: Bargaining - "Surely Milera plays SANFL for a few weeks to get up to speed after being out so long."
Stage 4: Depression <- We are here
Stage 5: Acceptance

Draper - not a heap of clearances but he often got the second possession out of stoppage and looked to put the jets on when he could. Had one outstanding moment at half forward where he blind turned and sped past a defender, sadly his kick just missed the target. Also liked his hands to the advantage of teammates today. Didn’t do any of the end of session running but he looks confident and ready.
I think when Draper gets his midfield minutes this year we are going to see his frenetic energy / burst be both his 1 wood and his biggest source of errors.

He'll look like he's shot out of a cannon compared to what we've been use to for the last decade and a half, which will be awesome. But I suspect he's also going to throw some fairly wild looking possessions out to teammates, and likely get intercepted on a relatively high click.

Having said that, I'm totally down with taking the good with the bad with Sid, particularly this year. Get that kid to 80 games as soon as humanly possible!

When he wasn't picked in the As for the first trial against Port he wasn't going to be picked for round 1.

That's Nicks, that's how he operates. He doesn't care about trial form, he's already picked the side

Hence why he should be sacked.

Looks fairly clean with his disposals from what I’ve observed.

Saving this for next time the media has some negative story running about our football club followed by "Since when can we trust the media?"

It's widely acknowledged most to all journalism is tabloid at best these days and the standard has dropped dramatically prioritising quantity over anything remotely quality.

I'd believe a player commenting in his own socials over the vast majority of any "journalists" these days.

Believe none of them. But when a player is, "training away from the club", it pretty much means they've been told to eff off and don't return until they're serious.

Disappointing that it seems as though Nank will be starting in the SANFL and Milera likely gets first crack. Nank was very solid last year and again looked good this pre season.

Nicks is obviously not a huge fan of Nank, he should easly be in front on Milera right now based on form.

Not a big fan ?? He played him pretty much all the way through last season.

He did enough last week.

Well Rory Lobb has already come out and said the stories re him and JUH circulating on social media are absolute bullshit.

So you've heard different from a reliable source it's not right that JUH has been back training with the main squad for several weeks now?

Its hard to know. All I know is there has to be a reason he needs to formally apologise and repair relationships with certain players. I dont overly care what he did so im not going to buy into the rumours. Something is clear that perhaps he has some attitude issues.

Pyke was the same.

Which players were overlooked during Pykes reign though. All our draftees would get games. Not sure who was a victim of pig headedness at selection.

As for Nicks, Nicks embarrassed himself last year by deliberately overlooking talent ripping it up in the Sanfl until he had to with injuries. I would be staggered if some younger players arent frustrated with the lack of opportunities while others seem to get games thrown at them regardless of performance.

Its still early, we havent seen the round 1 side yet. no point expecting the worst. Based on the trials the best 23 looks set to be decent.

Wigg was told half way through the year that no matter how well he went, he wouldn’t be playing. Pyke stuck with the same deteriorating players to the foreseeable conclusion.

Wigg proved he wasnt up to AFL standard. Nothing wrong with a coach ruling a line through a player. Nicks did it with McHenry in the second half of the season once he was dropped.
