Hey Bigman, how's Fog tracking?

Hasn't featured too heavily in your reports to date. Is that simply due to a solid but not eye catching summer?

Now that I think about it he's not featured in the AFC insta posts all that much either.
Would love Fog to raise his bar just a little.

God imagine his kick outs
Have you forgotten the last game at scg last year ??!!

Plays on from kick in before having a plan , trots along waiting for an option, sees nothing so decides to try go long down the line , smothered by Luke Parker - GOAL

He should never take another one again no matter what

bigman must like the sound of this:

The new sports precinct will provide a permanent match day home for Adelaide’s successful AFLW team, as well as a café and members lounge for all-day casual dining with indoor and outdoor seating to watch the Crows’ men’s and women’s players train.

only a couple years away… sigh
They should have a plush reserved seat with drink and food service permanently in place for Bigman.

This is where I think Laird down back will come unstuck. His disposal isn't great. You don't really want him with ball in hand coming out of defence. I am also not convinced he is a lock down defender either.

I think early on people will love the 30 touches but by seasons I think we will want him gone from the team. Hope I'm wrong.

TBH I would just love Fog to start the season in form. I feel like every year he takes time to work into the season, and then has a good to great 5-8 game stretch, and then goes up and down to close out.

At this stage of his development, I want him to burst out the blocks in 2025.

You are correct, but last year he ended the pre-season in very good form and was running as fast as I have ever seen.
However, he seemed to get disheartened very quickly and the rest of the season was as you described.

How many more years of Laird do we have?

Edit: 2 more seasons

I would say at least 2 more seasons. Unless he falls so far out of form he can no longer hold a spot in the best 23. Contrary to popular belief he is will cemented in our best 23 at the moment so its going to take a lot for him to fade out this year.

He is in the 23 on reputation now; he's already been moved once because better options are available. He'd want to have a good season because his kicking is far from elite, his defending isn't a positive so his run and carry will need to be spot on this year.

Not saying he can't but if he dishes up a season like the back end of last year and the clubs injury count is good his spot is not safe.

He has 2xAA guernsey's in that position though. When he was playing well there, it was a lot like his midfield time - lots of gives and gets, working out of trouble, not too many long kicks. He was bloody effective there in the past, and if he "wants to" be a defensive and tackling machine, he's capable as well.

Do we think he's forgotten how to play out of the back-half ... I remember him so fondly back there. So brave and reliable.

He is definitely a changed player from his AA times, leadership / attitude will be an interesting watch. I think he puts his head over it as often as most.

Clearly he read the ball well given he excelled playing in that position but has lost his acceleration in the first 10-15 meters as evidence when he played in the midfield for the last few years so he might be more suited at HB as he has more time and doesn't need acceleration to find space, he did some dump kicks late in the season playing HB when he wasn't under pressure just like in the midfield when he couldn't find space and is pressure.
