You and Mostyn are two different sides of the same coin.
Nope, I don’t think everyone at the Crows is useless or all our players are ordinary, quite the opposite, now there’s only 2 regulars I don’t rate. Nor do I think every decision we make is a poor one, I can acknowledge when we do stuff well, like Balme, like getting rid of Roo eventually, like Thebby, like our new recruits. It’s just that we’ve been shit for a long time and ****ed up so much that criticism is the prevailing theme. I also don’t flip flop with my opinions and claim emotion as to why I change my mind.

Mostyn blindly follows the club because it’s his club, he doesn’t criticise and he changes his opinion after the club has made a certain move to support it and claims emotion as an excuse. He supports all players and club employees.

Example. I criticise our change of gameplan at the start of the year after we changed our attacking gameplan. He reckons we didn’t and parroted every excuse the club has fed.

I wonder if everyone has to take the SANFL jumper photo or whether there's a bit of golden ticket action happening

Like is Izak Rankine pulling on the SANFL jumper for a photo? What about Reilly O'Brien who did play there last year?
I wondered that too. Looks like they all did (Dawson, Tex, Rankine, ROB further down the number list, etc). Will Hamill is still on the list though so I'm guessing these are last year's photos, but still confirms they do.

I think (hope) the goodwill and charity selections will have dried up after our start to last season.

We were in awe of ourselves, having executed the perfect rebuild. That culture! Coach extension, don't worry about properly replacing Rahilly. Don't even need to recruit any players- we already made finals really (minus the goal umpiring decision) with this young group. The trend is up.

That warm glow meant that we made some feelgood choices but I think the slap in the face we received will have awakened us to certain realities.

I'd guess ROB, Milera, Murphy, Smith, Hinge out. Nothing against Hinge, he just doesn't strike me as a leader.

Dawson, Keays, Fog retained. ANB, Rankine in. Smaller group overall.
Nearly

ROB retained over Rankine

Training 25/2/2025
I’d be quite surprised if Tex plays on Thursday. He came out to watch training today but didn’t participate at all. I’m assuming we don’t want him flying up to Brisbane, which makes sense.

Aside from Strachan, Max was the only other not to do any training. He came down late to watch but was obviously doing work inside.

Sholl trained but still has considerable strapping on his right knee and his lateral movement looked a little hampered. It does seem as though he might play on Thursday night though.

Rachele trained but didn’t do the last section for whatever reason. Rankine and Cumming were back and looked good.

Butts copped a knee from Thilthorpe late and finished training early. He didn’t seem too sore thankfully.

Training was pretty short today but gee the kicking and transition was sharp. Very little wind which would’ve helped. There was about 15 mins of match sim as well, with the teams as follows:

Blue
FB: Murray Keane Worrell
HB: Hinge Laird Milera
C: Sholl Soligo Cumming
HF: N-Bullen Rankine Keays
FF: Fogarty Curtin Thilthorpe
R: O’Brien Crouch Peatling
IN: Dawson Bond

White
FB: Butts Borlase Edwards
HB: Ryan Smith Nankervis
C: Jones Berry Dowling
HF: Taylor Murphy Cook
FF: Pedlar Burgess Murray
R: McAndrew Schoenberg Draper
IN: Drury Gallagher Welsh

Unless there’s an issue, you’d think Rachele plays Thursday night so that’s 21 out of 26 accounted for. Curious to see who the other five would be - you’d think Nankervis, Jones, Pedlar and maybe Dowling would be good chances.

Draper is the interesting one. I think he will probably travel as well but worth noting that in the various drills before the match sim, he was in a group consisting entirely of players in our B team from last Friday night.

Match sim was very short so hard to judge the players, must say though that the whites were actually the superior team which was amusing. Nankervis and Ryan in particular were very good across half back and hit some lovely kicks, which allowed quick transition for some easy goals out the back. Dowling was also once again very good, he’s in some solid touch at the moment.

Milera over Nankervis looks like this year's Nicks brain fart.
Let's hope it doesn't cost us games.

Nank for Milera
Dowling for Sholl
Max for Bond
Include Rachele, Walker and Draper and that's the R1 team vs St Kilda.

Tex did sound very non-committal in his radio interview this morning, would also be shocked if he went.

How much do you think Wayne is on exactly ??
Hard to know. Depends on how they structured his deal in 2020. If it was backended it could be a lot this season.

But given it was 2020 it probably was front ended if anything. I'm just talking shit.

A lot of seasons put into Milera, 27 years old. The club do love their senior players.

I wouldve thought he took tenure over cash.

Given he played 2 games in 2020
