I understand your sentiment, but we don't know the deal. Frampton may have been keen to sign for three years and taken a smaller contract in trade off for term. It may have also been to offset other contract expiration dates. It's a tricky business this contract world of the AFL.

i understand your thinking abdul, but its still 3 years for a bloke who played 6 games this year for one of the bottom teams - and notably didnt lay a tackle in any of them. 10 games the year before...5 before that ....2 before that...

i'd sign him for 25 games and that should last him 3 years....

A 200cm Key Position Defender is exactly what we need. Someone to help Darcy with the monsters and play the ruck role inside D50. With McStay taking the ruck role I50 means that Cox and Cameron can roam between the arcs mostly and spend time and energy taking big grabs up and down the wings. This I like.

The pieces are falling into place. Assuming he's any good that is. Might be a bust. Time will tell.

We've definitely a need for a tall defender at FB, this was highlighted with Roughy going down. This will allow Moore to do what he does best and for Howe to be more of an intercept player and less of a lock-down player. Whether that's Dean, Frampton or Kelly remains to be seen. Healthy to have options, even without injuries.

Frampton is not a lockdown player at all , he backs himself to get the ball , I’m parking my car in the Dean garage to be the lockdown player , if that is the way Fly&Co decide too fly ! or to continue in the manner we went this year , which is the basketball based defence .

I understand that players operate well - mostly - when the contract gives them time to settle in, but i dont understand how we are offering things to outside players coming in, when there are players on the list without that level of certainty....

No it’s not, if our recruiting team know what they want and if it takes 3 years at a reasonable price to get him at Pies, then a low risk
