She is completely overexposed, precocious and annoying. And I feel terribly sorry for her. Everything is so bloody forced. She is not going to be allowed anything even resembling a normal childhood, and will be posing for blokes magazines as soon as it's legal and probably in rehab by 16.

Whoever is pulling her strings and pushing her in front of camera's is a disgrace.

I just find it disturbing that grown adults are honouring the time-honoured Aussie tradition of Tall Poppy Syndrome towards an eight year old.

As a celebrity making money out of public interest, it's part and parcel that there will be polarised opinions. Don't tell me, Charlie, you're one of these people who weep and gnash their teeth over the poor celebrities who can't get any privacy when they divorce, convienently ignoring the fact they sold their freaking wedding photo's to some women's magazine for a small fortune.

The Irwins have made an extremely comfortable living by living their life in the media. They have exploited the media to their own ends. Now you're crying about the fact that, as public figures, some people might have some strong opinions on them? I ask you again, I hated Urkel when he was on TV. I hated the fat kid off Hey Dad, too. Would you berate me regarding those hatreds as well?

You've suggested that I am criticising you because her dad died (which I never said), that you're obligated to love her because she's eight years old (which I never said) and that I think she's exempt from negative feedback because she's eight years old (which I never said).

You're free to say she's annoying or whatever. However if you can't see why saying that youfeel justified in hating an eight year old for 'putting herself out there' - when you're surely smart enough to know that she's not in control of her own 'career' (such as it is) is disturbing, then I repeat. That says more about you than Bindi Irwin.

My reading of her prominence since her father's death is that it's a mix of media exploitation, her family taking the easy way out and letting a child bear the brunt of that media exploitation (which I don't agree with) and Bindi herself wanting to do it because it's what she used to do with her dad. I'm not particularly interested in what she's been doing these past three months, but I don't feel the need to vent about her online, either.

Maybe not her success. Her father's, maybe. Yes, he was a touch embarassing but I look at his career from a conservation/animal welfare perspective. As usual, opinions on this were divided but I personally have no doubt - I keep reptiles myself and no individual alive today has done more than Steve Irwin to raise awareness of reptile conservation. When groups like the WWF were focusing on big animals like tigers and cuddly ones like giant pandas (and there's nothing wrong with that) Irwin was changing millions of people's views on animals that aren't so cuddly, but are just as needy of protection.

Hangers-on-ers seem to be using public emotion through Bindi to try and carry on the family business (and resultant finiancial influx) after the main drawcard's death a little too much however.

God you think thats annoying we get the Australia Zoo AD aswell which gets shown like 30 times a day (I'm Not joking) thats more annoying than the fitness dvd I've gone close to smashing my T.V because of it.
