Multiplat BioShock: Infinite

This one is a relatively similar formula I terms of gameplay (except both hands are constantly active for attacks unlike the first). The setting is obviously a shit load different but not sure if that would make a big enough difference for you though.

In fairness, I couldn't get into the first one either but this one is much easier to get immersed in.

Are you finding the story the difference?

TBH, I find the environment much more appealing to be playing in.

During the first game, I only got through about an hour or two. It just never got me excited to play and I think the environment contributed a lot to that.

It seems to be a colourful game, which is what I like as well. One of my beefs with the first two was the whole darkness of it all.

Yes to this.

Yeah though I don't feel the same way, I can understand that.

A big factor in adding appreciation to the setting of Infinite is the sky rail.

That's what I liked about the first 2. The atmosphere was creepy and spooky. If that was your biggest beef with the first 2 then you'll comfortably like this one.

Just finished this tonight. Absolutely amazing story IMO. Although i could sort of see the ending it was heading to in a way.

I still prefer the first one though, probably the setting, i found the under the water more fascinating. But still, BioShock Infinite will have a decent say for GOTY honours.

Can't wait to give 1999 mode a go.

Brilliant game.

Booker was a very cool Han Solo type and Elizabeth was really well done both as a character and in gameplay terms.

The setting was great and the gameplay was terrific on hard.

The last maybe 20% of the game was really tough.

I don't want to spoil anything but stick around for the end of the credits.

Loved the ending and I'm looking forward to a 2nd playthrough to understand all the little references scattered in the story, like Return of the Jedi in the cinema in the first encounter with Liz and what that really means.

Really loving it so far.

My only annoyance is I'm getting these random tick sounds periodically when I'm walking around. It's like my secret mission is to measure Columbia with a trundle wheel.

no idea how far i am though, upto the factory in finktown, but this game... my goodness

Great game. The last mission on hard took for forever.
Not to sure about the ending but a good story all up.

How I did the last mission

Are you talking about defending the ship?? If so I got it second go only because I made sure I shock jockey trapped the whole deck in front of the enemies target. Literally did two full Salt bars worth of those traps. It was an electric minefield and that helped me 1) Slow the enemy down a heap and 2) run around to get enough ammo to kill them

Once I'd done that it was fairly straight forward (On Hard also btw) to kill them.

Also when you use Songbird use him for the big Blimps not the smaller ships. I found them easier to manage than more patriots :D

enjoying the **** out of this. however i didn't realise the checkpoints were so few, i got the shock jockey the other night, quit, just started it up again and i'm back at the gondola to the first lady airdrome without the shock jockey. i'm almost annoyed but this game's too goddamn fun to care

but in all fairness they should give some leeway to the poor folk who end up discovering it's 3 in the morning after getting addicted to it and want to go to bed

Yeah i think someone in this thread might have mentioned about the checkpoint saves. I made sure i kept an eye on it before exiting the game. Think i had one where my last save was 20 minutes prior, so had to push on a bit before exiting. And a lack of a map are the only 2 things i can pick on about this game. Pretty minor faults really

Finished it yesterday. Excellent game that was better than BioShock 1 in almost every way, though I honestly did prefer the Rapture setting by a fair margin.

Still thinking about the ending this morning and what it all means in terms of the series... Would love to have a chat with Ken Levine...

worked it out; turns out it was because my xbox had gone offline (power went out) and the clock had gone back to 2005 (00:00 AM), i ended up playing a bit with the clock like that and i must've got to like an hour and a bit in (1:30 AM), quit, think the power went out again cause of line works they're doing around here, clock reset to 00:00 AM and i played a bit further on, probably an hour or so.

when i went to boot it up last night, i guess the game chose the 1:30 AM save because it was more "recent", so i set the clock, went to "load chapter" and found the one i was up to.

I skipped it too!

Here is the video if you are interested.

Ahh thanks!
The whole thing reminds me The dark tower series/
