About mid way through the first now, what a game.

I reckon each entry has it's own thing going for it.
BioShock best themes/setting
BioShock 2 best gameplay
BioShock Infinite best story

Overall have to say the first is my favourite, was pretty blown away by it back in 2007. Would be unequivocal if the last portion of the game didn't shit the bed.

I really liked Infinite and didn't think the gunplay was all that bad. For me personally it goes Infinite > 1 > 2

Never played 1 or 2 so picked up the collection over the weekend. Only put 3-4 hours into the first one so far but pretty good, yeah looks and plays a little dated these days but still has a great atmosphere, can see how it would have blown people away back in 2007. Little Sisters/Big Daddies so creepy.

Every time I see a big daddy I run and then plan my attack. Hiding under the floor is always an effective way.

Yeah I usually see if there are any turrets or bots I can hack to give me a chop-out, then try to lure it into the kill zone. The decoy plasmid is essential too.

Usually agree with you regarding gaming mate and no different here.

1 is the clear stand out for me.

I liked the ending of Infinite, found it a bit short though. Finished in about 12 hours from memory.

If you like the Bioshock series it is worth finding yourself a copy of System Shock 2. The graphics are horrendous and the gameplay is punishingly hard, but the story and atmosphere are top notch.

Really looking forward to the remake of the original System Shock that's due next year, should be awesome:

Wish frigging EA would let SS2 be remade in the same way, it's probably Irrational's best game.

Currently playing Bioshock: Infinite on PS3 never having played the original or the sequel. Am I going to miss much concerning the story or is Infinite self contained?

i played infinite a couple years ago loved it, without playing 1 or 2

Hence when the remastered collection come out 2 weeks ago out I jumped at playing them, nearly finished Bioshock 1 (I think) and am absolutely loving it. so no you dont have to play 1 before infinite but looking back if i had the chance to do them in order I think that would be the best way, cant wait to sink my teeth into 2 then give infinite a redo

The DLC for Infinite is pretty much a prequel for Bioshock, but the main game is self-contained.

On a semi-related note, found this when looking around for footage of the SS remake. Pretty accurate summary of the game's frustrations. [emoji14]

i came around the corner and was like WTF? then remembered the designers were from australia

played through the first Bioschock (its unreal, the best), but remind me to never play Bioshock at night! Jump scares the shit out of me
Shotgun is the best.

Finished Infinite just then, still not entirely sure what just happen.
Feels alot like the ending to the Film "Shutter Island", thats actually how mind fcked I feel right now.

Im certain the whole time he was the good guy, but hey, I might just have to replay it and take the Bird Cage instead of the Bird at the start.
If that makes any difference to the story? I could see me grinding for Platinum on this, though i thought it was a ripping game, (loved the immersion and setting), at one point i did just feel like it was dragging on a little bit much.

Playing through Bioshock 1 now, and it's still brilliant. Being inside that world is brilliant. They nail so many small details. The sound of the water. The windows with views of the world that tease you every now and then. Even the Fort Frolic level where the stage light follows you around whenever you're in the theater.

The combat looks a bit dated, but it's still better than basically anything else. The different weapons, with ammo variations, and the plasmids. Brilliant.

I wanted to down a Big Daddy, but some splicers jumped me. I hit them with some enrage, they started attacking each other. I got the wrench out, broke a window to trigger the alarms. I hit the Big Daddy with the security bullseye. Soon, he had about 8 splicers and 3 of those turrets on to him. Success.

If I had one criticism, I want to know everything about this world. I know they only dripfeed you, but I'd love to know it all. This and Borderlands are the only games Ive looked into the distance and been fascinated.

Also, **** that hacking minigame. Seriously, **** it.
