In todays Herald Sun it says that mark Blake has ask to be traded.

What will we get for him?????

we should offer him everything to keep him
given he will develop like his dad he will be a star in 3-4 years
come on blame make him a super dooper offer

honestly, there was a time to trade him and we didn't
minimal value now, unless the gold coast want him

How can Blake improve his game when he is just a one dimensional ruckman?

THe Cats Football Department backed the wrong ruckman back in 2007 and they have lost!!

The Hawks are on the lookout for a good ruckman and Blake would suit the Hawks to a tee. In return, I would not mind the Hawk's Robert Campbell. Campbell is a mobile ruckman who can dominate the game via his around the ground work.

People forget that Rod Blake was a great ruckman for the Cats in an era where the mobile ruckman began to creep into the game. The game has progressed rapidly to a point where a ruckman must be strong in his tapwork and his ability to gather possessions around the ground and punish the opposition on the scoreboard and with his disposal to position via hand or foot.

Blake should stay and Ottens retires. Blake functioned perfectly as #1 ruck 1st time we played Pies, and made Jolly look ordinary. Needs to be shown time and confidence as #1 ruck. If it's not with us, we'll be watching him hit his straps elsewhere with envy. His treatment this finals series reflects Bomber's stubbornness and Hawkins was simply not up to fitness or ability as a RUCK.

But if he goes, somehow a 3way deal so we get Justin Sherman who is leaving Lions.

No thanks. Someone else can have the big sook.

Robbie Campbell has been doing ok in the VFL but I'm not sure we'll pick him up. Could be back to his best with a preseason under him but he is 28 and he did retire because of a knee problem.

Can't remember a single game where I thought "Thank God we had Blake..we couldn't have done it without him".
Simply too one-dimensional for the modern game. Put more time into Vardy, West and Simpson.
I'm not a Blake basher, per se, but I can't see a compelling reason to fight to keep him.

unless we can steal a pick in the 20-30 range we simply have to keep him..

when ottens goes we will be way to thin at ruck and we have put too much developmet into him to lose him...

if we dont dont have ablett next year it becomes pivotal to have a ruck duo winning the majority of taps and imcreasing clearances for our mids...

What happens when Ottens suffers his inevitable injury? Will Hawkins then be main ruck and someone like Simpson maybe as back-up? Don't know if that is all too appealing :P

I wouldnt mind trading Blake.

Too one dimensional as everyone has been saying.

We do need a decent ruckman so i hope we develop one of our youngers ones quickly while the window is still open.

We really need another top notch defender as Scarlo and Milburn are getting on. Maybe trade blake for a young defender?

a draft pick would be fine

Our ruck division will be weak but so will the rest of the team, that is part of rebuilding.

we have to keep him

with ottens leaving in the next year or 2 (if his body last that long) he is the only ruckman we have who can compete with the big boys.around the ground he isnt up with the rest but he can ruck.

our premiership window hasnt shut yet to rely on a inexperienced ruckman.

Unfortunatly like Lonergan last year his management will try to find a club who wants him and no one will take him except for us.

Maybe its time to part . Just go's to show how hard its is to get the position right. Ottens should go as well imo. Not the same player he was. Time's up I feel. Is West up to it? if not he probably should go as well.Having guys on the list that you don't want in big games is good for no one and its obvious that if we played Hawkins in the ruck that we trust not Blake or West.
