Outclassed early and pumped from then. Explanations?

Like I said last week Johnson is our most important player. Our defence has no structure.

However shitmond are scoring at ridiculous accuracy all a sudden.

Richmond's half back flankers are defending well and running to create, Freo's are being shown as poor and offering nothing offensively.

Outsiders perspective, no need to panic. Richmond played PERFECT football in the first Q (similar to Port against us 6 weeks ago) pinging goals through all over the place. Which put you guys under epic scoreboard pressure. Losing Johnson has affected your ability to set up from defence.

I think you guys are a bit predictable with Sandi to Fyfe out of the middle. Richmond are conceding the tap, conceding that will get a fair bit of first possession but blocking the runners and sliding back well to pick off rushed kicks out of the clearances.

Good practice for Ross to work on some plan B's which he doesn't have to do very often.

How high are our standards? We are 9-0 possibly 9-1 depending on our last qtr.

No need to start playing the blame game. There is a few players who you could point at but there is no need to panic.

I'm still fuming at the fact Pav got bronx'd cheered.. Like seriously?

All key stats won, inside 50s, contested possession, clearances. Tigers win by 27 regardless.

Picked apart by an uncontested possession kicking game like Hawthorn has. Won't beat Hawthorn, who are better at it than the Tiges, unless something changes.

Suban: 12 disposals

How long can we keep carrying this lemon?
Only seven fewer than centre square starter Mundy. One less than "having a good year" Danyle Pearce.

The usual yo-yos had their dip when Tigers brought the pressure in the first half.

For whatever reason in the first half tonight we were lethargic, lazy and our skills were terrible. Even before Johnno went down we were leaking easy possessions all over the ground. It was almost like we thought we could just let have the easy lead up 15 to 20 metre kick all the way up the ground. In much the same way as we provided the blueprint for teams to beat Port Adelaide, I think Richmond have highlighted a serious deficiency in our game plan.

The fact the Richmond were pinging them from everywhere didn't help (much like the first quarter of the derby) but FFS a bit of pressure on the ball carrier would have made their job a bit harder! For some reason we have players who think that corralling is equivalent to pressuring and it just isn't, patricularly when they always have an easy short pass to get out of trouble.

Not panicking, but that is an indication that we are nowhere near as good as we may have thought coming into this game.

Is anyone else concerned about the fact that we are not rotating enough players through the 22 to give some of the regulars a rest and get games into some of the fringe players? I am seeing draftees getting games and playing well for lots of other clubs and we seen unprepared to give anyone outside the "best 25" a run. Is Mzungu a spent force, and if not why has he not had a run yet?

Whew, I need to have a bex and a lie down I think - all I am praying for now is that North Melbourne keep the Eagles two games behind! :)

Well done Zac Clarke 6 disposals.

Thats 7 disposals over 2 games.

His 12 disposals are poor. He laid 2 tackles, and gave away 4 free kicks. Compare this with crozier:

Disposals: 10

Tackles: 5

Way more damaging is crozier yet Suban gets a start?

Lose Johnson and Spurr, leaving us exposed with Duddfield and Sutcliffe and OUR ball movement was atrocious

A bit off with the pressure in the first half, but geez they couldn't miss.

I think we struggle against Richmond because they have a fair few running types. Take out Hill and D Pearce and we'd probably be the slowest midfield in the league

We struggle against sides because they still believe they can beat us. We don't go in for the kill enough when we are on top in games, we don't generally have that mental edge over our opponents.

Johnson is a massive massive blow. He has been awesome this year and puts a hell of a lot of pressure on Macca. If he goes down too we are F$@%ed !!

We have absolutely no depth in defence. I have been saying it for weeks.

I was on a flight and missed most of the game. Anyone know how bad jonnos hammy looked. Keep in mind that Silvagni was 12 weeks :(

I agree wholeheartedly re Crozier, but that debate about classy players vs workman role players is kind of pointless.

It was the ball movers in Pearce and Mundy going missing that cost the game, and it's a fairly common theme in big games that are losses.
