This is just a crazy stat - renowned as one of the most reliable and versatile players of the modern era, Blicavs' durability stands out and since his debut has only missed 17 games, remarkably featuring in 94% of Cats games.

So across 13 seasons to date, he's missed less than 1 full season of games, that's crazy durability especially for a guy who plays the roles he does

Have to say, he's Geelong's Swiss Army knife. Always a great athlete, he's also very strong, very durable and has been vital for us in the period he's been at the club with our issues in the ruck. Great back-up to Rhys, and if anything his footy has almost got better every season. No real surprise that the only period he has missed which was late in the 2023 season, we fell away losing 5 of our last 6 games to peter out of contention that year. Maybe his late start to footy has kept his body a little fresher for later in his career. I'm sure most Cats fans are very pleased he's signed on for another year. And of course at his age, year by year is really all we can plan for. A brilliant clubman too!!

As absolute weapon. The way he can shift to virtually any position and provide quality is an incredible thing. A natural athlete with exceptional stamina to near Olympic standards; probably one of the best rookie selections in AFL history.

He’ll go on for another year after this surely, but structurally best to do 1 yr options from here on.

We know he's still got 16 games until he reaches 300 AFL matches - what will hopefully be an early 2026 milestone

But this weekend he reaches a league milestone - congrats to Blicavs on attaining AFL Life Membership

This is a damn fair effort for a guy who didn't make his senior debut until 5 days AFTER his 22nd birthday (we'll have as much more in depth write-up come the appropriate round next season)

Was Blicavs a steeplechaser?

Not bad for a steeple chaser 😜

But in all seriousness, can anyone else envisage him signing 1yr deals for the next few years and becoming our games record holder

Absolute unicorn. He’s changed his game so much from the early days. Always learning, developing and doing his best every week.

He’s not slowing down, where I think he can go on at least till end of 27.

He comes across as one who is happy to sign single year deals at this stage of his career; next year may be his last but like you I can see him playing on beyond 2026
