Well I think maybe part of my problem is the game is played at such a fast and frantic pace these days that umpires don't see or ignore several players who get away with chucking/rugby passing the ball instead of properly handballing it (aka Clayton Oliver)

And I still don't know why so many players are not great set shots at goals, even on dry, non windy game days.

But maybe I am nitpicking way too much as you say.
